Welcome to PSO-World.com's 5th Anniversary Celebration! It's hard to believe that it was over FIVE whole years ago when PSO-World first opened it's virtual doors. Since then, we've achieved a number of accomplishments and have formed one of the best online gaming communities around! Of course, we would not be here today if it weren't for the dedication and contributions of our outstanding staff and members. A huge thanks goes out to everyone who has helped PSO-World over the years. So, without further ado, let's get the party started!
Since January marks our fifth year on the Net, we're going to be running contests and events through the remainder of the month. Many of our events and contests will tie into a huge site-wide raffle, where we will be giving away Phantasy Star Universe pre-orders and other assorted goodies! Let's take a look at what is in store for everyone:
- PSO-World.com rare item hunt: "Find the red boxes!" - (Contest Period ENDED) - Your chance to win a Phantasy Star Universe Pre-Order and other prizes, just by logging in and browsing the site! Those elusive red boxes aren't just in the game anymore!
- Fan Works Extravaganza, featuring fan art and fan fiction contests in six different categories. Immortalize your bragging rights with a PSO-World virtual trophy and pick up some raffle entries and other PSOW goodies as well!
- History of PSO-World Content - Ever wonder who had the 1 millionth post on the message boards? or what the most popular article, EVER, was? We'll be feeding you all kinds of fun and interesting tidbits about PSO-World's history on the Net.
- More celebration events to be determined and announced through the remainder of the month!

We wanted to do something big for PSO-World's 5th Annivesary Contest and figured, what better way than to turn every single page of the site into a contest page! By simply logging in to your PSO-World account and browsing through the site's content, you'll be able to find rare red boxes, each one containing an entry into our 5th Anniversary Raffle. You'll know when you've discovered a red box, because the following will appear at the top of the page you are viewing:
Just click on the "Redeem" button and the page will refresh, adding your entry to your account. Once the page reloads, you'll get a confirmation message in a similar box, stating that your entry was redeemed, along with a count of your total entries in the contest. It's that easy! Remember, though, you need to be logged in to your PSO-World account in order to redeem an entry, for tracking purposes. If you don't have an account yet, now would be a great time to visit our registration page and sign up, it only takes a minute!
In addition to finding red boxes throughout the site, you can come to this page once every day to redeem a FREEBIE entry. All you have to do is click the big red "Redeem" button below! Prizes:
Prizes include at least (2) Phantasy Star Universe pre-orders (both PS2 and PC versions available), provided by the staff of PSO-World.com. Other prizes include PSO-World goodies such as custom avatars, decorative account addons and more. Additional prizes may be added to the pot at any time!
Rules:
This contest is available to users with PSO-World.com accounts. Registration is 100% free and there is no purchase necessary to participate in this contest. Any user attempting to set up multiple accounts or tamper with the entry system for the purpose of gaining more entries will be disqualified from the contest and will have their user priviledges revoked. Users are limited to one entry per day via the official contest page, and are limited to an undisclosed number of "red box" entries per day as well. The entry period for this contest will continue until February 5th, 2006 @ 11:59PM PST. Winners will be randomly chosen from all redeemed entries after the conclusion of the Fan Works Extravaganza voting period. Winners will be announced on the front page. Any winners who will be receiving prizes that require shipment will need to provide a name and valid shipping address for where the item(s) are to be sent. Winners who are not located in the U.S. may be subject to additional restrictions, but we will do our best to accomodate. Contest void where prohibited.

| Fan Works Extravaganza: Fan Art and Fan Fiction Contests |

As part of PSO-World.com's 5th Anniversary Event, we are holding a Fan Art/Fan Fiction contest! Help us celebrate this special occasion by creating some Fan Art/Fan Fiction and submitting it for the contest! If you place in any of the categories, you will increase your chances at winning one of the lucrative Phantasy Star Universe pre-orders in the main raffle! Read below to see the exciting categories that have been set up and to find out what other prizes you can win!
Rules:
All entries should either be related to the category for which they are being submitted. Submissions must be in by January 31. All submitted content should conform to forum rules. You are allowed to make multiple submissions, but may not submit an entry to multiple categories. Any works that are posted on PSOW (either in the Fan Works forum or appropriate Gallery) prior to the start of the contest are not eligible for submission. Also, any entries that are posted in Fan Works before the contest ends will be disqualified.
Judging Process:
Once the submission period has ended, special galleries will be setup - one for each category. PSO-World.com users will then have the chance to vote for their favorite piece in each category. The winner for a particular category will be the piece with the largest number of votes. Once voting has finished and a winner has been determined, results will be posted on the front page.
Prizes:
Prizes will be handed out for the first, second, and third place winners in each category. The prizes will vary depending on where you place.

All submissions should be sent using the Private Message system to either HUNewearl_Meira or Ryna. When you submit your entry, be sure to indicate what category you are submitting it for. Also, if you are submitting an image, be sure to send us a link to the location where it is hosted! If you need someplace to host your image, check out Photobucket.com. If you are submitting a short story, just copy and paste the entry into the Private Message.

It's been a long, and sometimes bumpy, road; we've got a lot to cover! Here's an idea of what you have to look forward to:
