• XBOX PSO release date and charges

    Kalbelgarion writes, "According to GamerWeb, a reputable Microsoft Rep has reported that "PSO will be out in the US sometime in November 2002, although no exact date is known at this time. If that doesn't get you excited wait to you hear this...there would NOT be any additional fees (other than your LIVE subscription) to play any online game in North America, including PSO....(This of course does not include charges for any premium content that would be in addition to standard gameplay.)"

    It looks like XBOX PSO will be out next month, with no monthly or tri-monthly fees, but additional content, such as new offline quests, may cost extra.    "

      Without the purchase of a Hunter's License will bring many people back from hating PSO. Old hardcore fans(like myself) will also be excited about this news. Also glad to here that PSO is not posponed unlike the v.2 for the dreamcast which players had to wait basically the whole entire summer for. Thanks again for the entharling news pso-world and keep up the good work.

      So Gamecube users, what do you guys have to say about the Xbox version not only NOt being PSOv2, but the fact that you don't have to buy a Hunter's License, and have Content Downloads unavailable to GC users. Also voice communication sure is fun . If anyone has the Xbox Live beta and the free copy of MotoGP you know what I'm talking about. Good job MS.

      I don't buy into that one bit they already realise that the Playstation 2's Network Adapter is saleing like crazy and they need a way to gain much attetion like the PS2 network adapter but the thing might be it will be free for the first month then they will start charging then all you happy folks will be like "its the great xbox so i will pay lol

      well, this has been proven wrong being as that it is now the end of march, 2003. the release date is set for april, as of now.

      as far as the 'no hunter's license' idea - also false. players get 2 months for free before having to pay $8.95us per month + the fee for xbox live (once your pre paid year is up).

      of course, i am still planning on getting this version since the GC broadband adapter is quite tough to find and the x box uses VoIP and the GC, as of right now has only one keyboard avaliable (so you don't have to use the horrid soft keyboard) - the Ascii Keyboard Controller. This looks quite uncomefortable!

      the downloadabole content is another BIG puls!!!

      with all of this said, I am going to pass on the GC version. I bought a DC a few years ago just so I could play PSO1! As much as I miss the game, I'll wait for the Xbox version.
