Different indeed... Hopefully the game is good. It's not going to be the same gameplay. But I can give it a try...

This is an interesting direction for PSO. Turn based combat will be a change back to a more traditional RPG. Which perhaps may revive the stronger story line like in the earlier Phantasy Stars. I will have to see how it plays.

Perhaps I will be like Yu-Gi-Oh! In that case I think I would have to play a Del-D Dark Bringer and a Delbiter. Sacrfice them all to merge them in to Olga Flowen add a Dark Flowen card and go into Attack Mode.

But for now I'm satisfied with Episode I & II. I have 13 characters and am still searching for the rares. not to mention lv 200 which will naturally happen along the way. I kind of like the idea of it being exclusive to Cube though it will suck for those who don't have one. But hopefully draw a larger user base. It would also be nice if the big N sank more effort into the online titles on Cube. I know there are other games out there worth playing online. Though this is the only one I really play on or offline. I'm sure not everyone can be entertained by this title for 2 yrs like I have.

Sega already announced an xbox version was on the way (This was when it was called PSO Card Battle). They're just showing off the Gamecube version (Infact, I'm almost positive Ep. I and II was "only on Gamecube" until The xbox version was shown at TGS2k2)

My guess is its exclusive in the same way MGS2: Substance was exclusive to xbox. It just means that another version wont be due out for a few months.

PSO has always been tagged as appearing on the XBox too and not just GC exclusive. Personally I love turn based battles (ala Final Fantasy), so I'd like to see how this one shapes up... just do an X Men 2 and release it simultaneously, about time Europe had a shot at the start of something...

I have been aware for a long time (before GC in fact) that PSO was due for XBox release too, whichis no bad thing (except the hacking but nm) for this community needs more users... Ep III looks rather exciting as I love turn based battles systems, but remember if they aren't interesting enough then life can be very dull!!! Maybe they should be looking more to real time battle systems like Parasite Eve and Final Fantasy X-2... could be a winner???

Anyone else think that PSO with a Hunter-style attacking and movement would be completely awsome?

personally, Id like to see them to a PSO in Grandia 2 style... that game was really tight.

I have faith that if anyone can make a cardgame videogame good, PSO can.

(note: i havent played lost kingdoms one or 2) they any good???

Let's just hope it doesn't play like Yu-Gi-Oh!, the last thing we need is another simplistic card game with no depth.

The logo reminds me of old-school final fantasy, you know.

The gameplay looks more familiar to all of us rpg fans too - I mean who ever heard of an rpg that wasn't turn based! lol

For myself, I have to say that this looks amazing!

Don't get me wrong, I love pso just exactly as it is, however I can also see the appeal of the more technical fighting system, and from my knowledge of pso and the amazing amount of thought that has obviously gone into planning every aspect of the game, I'd expect nothing less than a 10/10 scoring sequel. Don't let me down, sonicteam!

I guess as long as they keep the balance right so that you still get teams of people supporting each other and becoming friends, and of course chatting (so hopefully not loads of fiddling with cards when you could be talking) then that is the most important thing - in some ways the method of fighting is really quite arbitrary. After all, when you fight monsters, you use some spells/weapons, but not the ones you don't have, obviously. So to you, it's as though those items don't exist, hence we all fight battles slightly diferrently anyway; we all fight with slightly different tactics and aspects, but nonetheless we all fight together! That is the appeal of pso!

The big question is, will it be out here in time for Christmas !?
