• Goodbye Sega, Hello Sega Sammy Holdings

Gamespot released news today that reveals Sammy will be taking over Sega in a stock buyout and will be merging into one new company called Sega Sammy Holdings. The two companies won't become immediately integrated, but plan to be by 2007. Also according to the article, "Starting July 1, Sega's seven subsidiaries--Sega Wow, Sega AM2, Hitmaker, Sonic Team, Smilebit, Amusement Vision, and Digitalrex, will begin integrating back into Sega."

What does this mean for the future of Sonic Team and PSO?

I doubt this intergrating of Sega's divisions back into Sega will have any significant effect on the developers themselves since this was obviously planned for a long time and many games - both console and arcade - still have the company's logos on them.

This may lead to some very great things for PSO. Maybe some more attention to online monitering or something..... I may be jumping too far, for it will finally be integrated in 2007.

How dare you speak about sega that way. Sega is king when it comes to FUN and INOVATIVE games. I just wish they stoped cranking their stuff out so quickly and spent a little more time on graphics.

their games have sucked as of recent.

they have not done anything innovative or fun to play

pso ep 1 and 2 is now boring as hell

and ep 3 is just rinse and repeat to get levels and wait months for E rank cards

Actually, Sega isn't going anywhere. The title of this news post is completely off. Sega and Sammy will continue to use their separate brands in ALL future products. The average user will probably never notice a difference now that Sega and Sammy are one.

      That is true,

      SEGA will still be SEGA,

      and Sammy still Sammy.

There is honistly nothing to worry about

Infact its a GREAT thing Sammy will pump

      lots O money into SEGA.

The coming togeather of all SEGA's teams

means they can help each other out

and so all round better games!

Also sammys Guilty Gear series will become

      SEGA published!

With all this SEGA sould be able to

bring out more games per year

      and better games.

SEGA are already leaders, think of the possabilitys!
