• New Famitsu.com Article - More Extra Mode Information

    Famitsu.com put an a new article today related to Extra Mode. While most of the material in the article has been covered in previous updates, we do learn one important new detail. You will not be able to use your Extra Mode character online. Your Online and Extra Mode characters will be seperate. This announcement should not come as a major surprise since we already knew that Online Mode characters will be saved on the server. It appears Sonic Team created this mode to cater to people that may not have access to Online Gameplay. Also, this will help make Online Mode more secure since you will not be able to alter your character offline and go online (like Blue Burst). Credit goes to EspioKaos for translating the article.       Hooray indeed. Though it still kinda blows that you HAVE to play the normal offline mode as Ethan, in order to unlock missions for extra mode. Guess the developers feel that shouldnt be avoided. -_-'

      now is it just that ppl arent able to get an internet connection or is it that u have to pay to play online like the other versions of the game that will stop them from going online.....because i think its pretty gay that u have to pay....but i guess thats pretty much the only way, how r they gunna make money....but it would b really cool to play this game online without having to pay

      i think that the fact you cant take an extra charector to online will be better for more legit players so rooms and games arnt runed from hackers and they can finally keep an online game totaly legit.Also the whole thing about playing online but paying should stay because then they cant support a server but if it were lowered just a bit more ppl would come and play so in the end they would come out better.

      ya maybe....but i just dont like the fact that u have to pay...but i mean who does...? but lowering it might help a little, i really dont even know what the current rate is...doesnt really matter i usually play offline becaue i dont have a credit card to pay with, so the extra mode will be awsome for me and all other offline players, cant wait to play this awsome game even tho offline

      Let's see, well, that's a relief, buying PSU for the PC will actually be more than a client to install... now you can play offline whenever you want and play online too That way it will actually feel like the GCN again (good offline and online)

      Sadly, the source I saw about a possible co-op which IS in thinking still, might just be available at this last minute under (specifically) Extra Mode. Also, will the PC game also have the RPG mode? just checking... cause I don't want to get a game that I can only play online :P

      Is there anything know if the PC-Version will get a LAN-Extra-Modus.. (or at least is it possible that there will be one) ...?

      I think that would be too cool for ST to do, sadly.
