• JP PSU Release Delayed Again

    According to the official website, the Japanese release date for Phantasy Star Universe (PC & PS2) has been changed from March 30, 2006 to just "2006." The statement on the website says that the game is being delayed so more time can be spent polishing the game and improving the stability of the online network. Sonic Team apologizes for the delay and understands the frustration of the fans.

      They should just port it over to the PS3 and have it be a launch title, That way, sony can show off it's new online service, and have an awesome game to back it up. I mean, the way things are looking, we'll have Playstation 3 in america before we Have PSU.

      Why put it on the PS3 when you can put it on the PS2 and allow both consoles to play it? It's backwards-compatible is it not?

      doesnt bother me im glad its being pushed back because for 1, they get more time to make it better, like i said before rushed things will not be very good. also the revolution comes out on thanksgiving and im really hopeing that once its out this game will also come out and im sure they will then look at making it for revolution i hope. we all want it for revolution lol or maybe just me :P.

      Yeah but if they put it on the PS3 it could have better graphics, and updates, and patches, and new missions and planets, and character types to download, putting it on the PS2 just kinda seems like a waste.

      You seem to forget that Phantasy Star is not as popular as Final Fantasy. Hence, having it as a launch title for a $400+ game console wouldn't be a good move for Sega at this point. The whole debate is similar to Nintendo not putting the new Zelda game on the Revolution -- they could, but why do that and cut off all existing gamecube users? Likewise, why would sega want to cut off its existing PS2 userbase?

      Of all 3 consoles, sega has the smallest userbase on The Playstation 2. Most Sega games are released for the Gamecube, and the Xbox.

      Logically speaking, of course. It will take time for people to widely adopt the new system, it would be a bad move on Sega's part to port the game to it, considering they're going after the market that's already present on PS2.

      Release it on the PS3? No thanks. Some of us don't wish to spend HUNDREDS of dollars on a brand new system for just one game. Can't forget the costs of memory cards and the games.

      It's a given, all consoles suck at launch and only the truely impatient, those who throw money everywhere or are just plain loaded end up paying so much for a console at launch.

      The very fact that some people are waiting for the new consoles' prices to drop is an indication that it'd be a horrible move for Sega to release the game on a launching console that costs over $300, with the addition of shelling out money for a game and online fees as well as a memory card.

      No, thats flawed, completly flawed

      if Anything when PS3 launches and they have a few million plus units worldwide in peoples hands, and the game manages to be a launch title, Sega would be laughing.

      After all what better way to test out the online compabilitys of a console with a new rpg/mmo game

      GAH NO! Im upset but not angry well Im because im stuck to Final Fantasy Shit 1337 XI online. Only thing for me to do is take beastmaster to 75 get the feel of end game beastmaster hood after that it's just hell from downhill. I hope this game releases before this year ends I can't take much more of ffxi.

      i agree with dragonstorm, even if this game comes out b4 the revolution is released, they should make it for the revolution soon after like they did for pso with the dreamcast and gamecube.

      also, the revolution is gonna be a sick systerm
