Both character designs draw on their Phantasy Star Online roots, while incorporating design aesthetics from Phantasy Star Universe. It will be interesting to see clothing customization options for these classes.

I just realized that almost all the outfits we've seen thus far are basically all the same. Same in theme, same in coloration, same in just about every way. They're actually kind of boring now that I really step back and look at them.

I agree with you half way on this it is the same theme in the sense that it is sci-fi. But I wouldn't call it boring.

^here's hope for deeper customization from what we've already seen in PSO. But the screenshots are definitely not boring.

I like her hat. It's almost like a little throw back to the old RaMarl in PSO. Even the shape of her pants too. So far it feels "updated" without feeling foreign. Nice Feel.
And of course.. the glasses. XD

Oh man, I hope I can run this game when it comes out, even if it's bare-minimum settings. Looks too gorgeous for me to run it.

If you can run PSU at max graphics then your fine. Overall, PSO2 is no different from PSU's engine except with better movement and jumping. Just look at the models. They're exactly the same as PSU's. Now, I'm not bashing on PSO2 cause I'm still going to get it. I'm just saying even though it looks better, it's just smoke and mirrors. Even though these are just alpha screens, look at the gun. You can tell it's uncompleted and probably won't go further than that. The only difference is if your graphics card can render a few more objects on screen and your processor handle more actions occuring. Other than that, PSO2 is just PSU's engine intergrated into PSO with modifications.

Simple delicious. I wonder though how the Newman in this game will play. Will it be simply the HUnewearl, FOnewm and FOnewearl or will it be more akin to zero where they both genders as hunters and forces?

RAmarl? Oh no! Needs more RAcaseal.

Designs aren't TOO bad, but the RAcast's head bugs me (it looks tiny!). There is a problem with the spines on the females so far (very obvious on HUnewearl, slightly visible on RAmarl). It wasn't apparent in the game footage though, so maybe it's just a decieving camera view here.

Overall the designs are looking more PSU-orientated so far; there's a hint of PSO in there but not enough to make me think this is a PSO game.

Boy does that RAcast look ridiculous. Hopefully there are much better options by release.

But yeah, I think it was just bad camera angle because in-game it looks completely different. It's a merge of the two I guess. Graphics still remain PSU though (Engine being improved slightly and models not changing), aspects of the game are more of PSP2 (PP bar, dodging, Blocking, combos, Elemental attributes... wasn't hoping that would return), and I guess the only thing so far that makes it PSO is the control scheme (1-0 and the 3 action palettes) and design somewhat. Honestly, it's not much of PSO. I think the only reason they named it PSO2 is for hype and fans drooling over the fact that there's a sequel, but then find out it's barely anything like PSO except for redesigned character models.

So the RAmarl, like the HUnewearl, has some kind of snake spine. Fair enough.
Her overall shape does look like the old RAmarls, but the actual clothing reminds me more of certain PSU CAST parts. Not that this is a bad thing, but it'll be nice to see if there are going to be other options.
Force will be nice to see next; both for a little gameplay teaser and a general look at the designs.
That, and an answer on whether they're stopping at the three core races, or including any of the others.
      Time will tell, I guess.

I still fail to see how leaning slightly backwards = "snake spine."

Where do you see elemental attributes? I think they're using a different, more pso style system.
