PSO2 Western Release Delayed - Officially Confirmed by SEGA

I'm talking gameplay-wise, the pleasure I had playing PSO is long gone.
I was afraid that this game would be too much like PSU and indeed, now it's here, it actually IS.
So yeah, in my opinion PSO is dead, but it doesn't YOU cannot have fun playing the half-game!
Anyway I was just giving my impressions on the game... sometimes I forget that the Internet is not a place where you can freely express yourself.

You didn't make it clear enough that you were talking primarily about your own opinion; that itself is fine, I had issue with the sentence blatantly saying "PSO is now clearly dead, maybe for the best, so the legend born from DC to GC remain unspoilt." To me that sounded like you were talking about the lack of localization, because that's what you replied to (the announcement of such). My apologies if you only meant your own enjoyment of the game.

Yeah maybe that wasn't clear enough, anyway no offense taken.
Of course a localisation would be for the best and I'm looking forward to it so I can fully enjoy the game and all its features, officially translated.
I would also add that, as a heavy PSO player (as we knew it on DC / GC), it really feels like it's a different game than what PSU/PSO2 are. Maybe I was expecting something more PSO-like (as far as the name goes it is what they tried to do)
In my opinion PSO2 is somewhere between PSO & PSU but still, so far I don't enjoy playing it that much. Will give it another try on the Vita american version whenever it comes out!

Yah, you know, LIKE THE ORIGINAL PSO. Anybody remember Select-Chat or w/e it was called that would auto-translate selected phrases into the language of the recipients games? Yah, good times right? Anyway an internation thing would be great, but I'm not getting my hopes up. My main concern is not when it will be released or even how far behind we'll be. It'll be HOW LONG we'll be behind. I think maybe a months or so after the US servers are up, they release things quicker (if possible) thank they did on the JP servers so they catch up. But meh, this is just me. I fear if too many people go JP then the US servers will suffer and get taken down. Not everyone has the ability/will to go JP, I'm one of them.

Being as that we are basically in May and still not a peep from Sega, I am doubting my prediction of June. I would've thought Sega US would want to capitalize on all the kids being out of school, but then again, maybe it would be better to wait till the cold weather kicks in and everyone will be spending more time inside. You definitely don't want to miss out on everyone asking for Pre-paid AC cards from Xmas, so I don't expect them to wait till 2014. I'm changing my prediction to mid-September.

They showed the English version playable at PAX last year and not a peep since, until this "delay". There's obviously some reason for this, so I a, going to go out on a limb and predict:
Nintendo came to Sega and convinced them to port PSO2 to Wii U. It will be unveiled at E3 2013, and it's a news/media blackout until then.

With Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate already out and that other Monolith RPG that people suspect to be online (the one with mechs and dinossaurs)... that's not such a farfetched theory.

I rather they take their time and hopfully do it right.

I remember playing PSO back in the heydays of DC and XBOX.
And just recently heard PSO2 was coming, now I hear it's delayed.
I wonder if they're ironing out the details for a port to the Playstation4.
I mean I heard it was on Vita, and PS4 specs are closer to a baseline
gaming PC. One can hope.

i played the demo for this game on xbox, got a bit unhappy when they shut it down.

not happy about it... i mean game itself is not THAT famous in europe but im addicted since pso ep 1 + 2 on gamecube about 10 years ago and i really hope they dont just abandon their western fans...

I can't believe there hasn't been anything said since the delay you'd think they'd at least attempt to reestablish communication with the foreign fanbase after leaving us in the dark for nearly a year...

I bet they're just hoping if they shut up for long enough. Everyone will forget the promises they knew couldn't be kept and the game will just die a silent, stillborn death overseas.

Can you go in settings so the story line is in English. Or can you speak English in the chat screen. Any person that has an answer for my question please reply

There is a patch available, but I don't know the full extent to it. Just look for it.
