Remaking your PSO Characters in PSU...

How many people have tried this, and did you like the results? Do your PSU characters look similar to their PSO counterparts? Post some character pics, so that people can see what your characters used to look like, compared to what they look like now.

Well, I have to wait until the 12th update, but for the most part, my chars will look a lot like my PSO characters. (Except for Igneous, who wasn't on PSO.)

Tried it, doesnt work. The only character I had any real wish to remake was my HUnewearl and I learned the hard way that F newman + melee = teh suck.

Um...Newman Female Wartecker is not very sucky once debuffs come out.

umm, no, newmans are not so bad in melee, it just happened that the other 3 races are better than them at it, nothing more. I tried it myself. also, I did recreate my HUmar from PSO into PSU. Since I mostly used Musashis, Yamatos, and Asukas with him, I made him a Fighgunner

I can't get that cardboard box armor my old HUmar had back in PSO, but other than that I think I look pretty similar. Gameplay-wise though, it would be impossible to recreate the total weaksauce I had back then.

I am remaking my RAcast from PSO named The Hulk and I think he will come out alright. I also remade my FOnewearl Atalanta as a human. I didn't want her to look the same though so she isn't a midget this time but the face and hairstyle are similar.

I don't see it working out well.

Unless you turn your Humar into a female as one of the default blouses have that huge armband thingy.

The Casts/Caseals have a bit more similarity except in the proportion side. So skinny waist chibi HUcasts anymore.

My HUcaseal wound up being a Ranger when I remade her, and I didn't really go for exactness when it came down to the parts and everything. I don't really mind though since Ranger/Fortegunner really works well with me. Same name, but at this point, quite different characters.

Originally, I wasn't going to re-make any of my PSO characters, but I eventually caved in and decided that I needed to recreate my HUnewearl; I concluded that I just love the character too much to abandon her like that.

Pink Mag in PSU is the older version of the one in PSO (though I wish she had 'longer' hair). I like her transistion though I don't like that weird looking bunched up 'bush' ponytail style. Guess the hair engine mechanism was a bit awkward.

The hair palette is ok, just weird and it's not like the 256 RGB palette but more of a weirder version.

also, I wished that there was a longer hairstyle that had bangs covering the forehead instead of it being combed back or being too short(like the one that only reaches the neck), since thats how Shiro Ryuu is supposed to look.

hmmm... I had a HUnewearl named Pine on BB. My only character on PSU is also named Pine, but it is a Male newman and future guntecher. So... no, but they both have purple hair.

I dont want to play a force. or half force. I have ADD and can not pay attention to people's life well enough to keep them healed. Sooo... yea... >.>
EDIT: Yes yes, ill rephrase that, I dont feel newmans, expecially female ones can live up to the job of melee good enough for me to play one. I like being able to equip all my good weapons I just got, and newman ATP would hinder that a bit. But yes, your right newmans are very playable in melee. Just, not for me, im used to being able to take a beating, and newmans cant take that beating as well as other races. But yes, they can melee.

Yeah, but I lost the ponytail, have slicked back hair, and no square type glasses but Rico style. I could have remade my FOmar, but I didn't really like the ponytail haircut enough. So I went with a different haircut and also, a different class altogether. He's a guntecher now, and infinitely more cool looking.

Still red hair and glasses though. Uber nerds are just too hot.

Nova takes a beating a lot better then Maya does. Yes, Maya's a force, and she's at a lower level then Nova, but it's still true.

Edit: As for character remakes, all of mine except for Koji (I didn't care for playing as male characters in my PSO days) are remakes of my most used PSO characters. I didn't care much for making them an exact likeness. I just used the same vision I had of them on PSO. Also, Kinako was a FOnewearl in PSO.

I have an entirely new lineup so far...but "The Chojin"(main character in the GC era. FOmar, level 152, usually carried Sorceror's Cane or Sigh of a God) looms on the horizon. It's interesting to me that the Beasts/Nanoblast addition to the gameplay mechanics....this all just happens to fit quite nicely with the story and eventual destiny I had in mind for Chojin(*my story for him involved his study and research on transformation, and he would eventually learn to take the form of something along the lines of a Hildetorr, and proceed with the destruction of Pioneer 2), even back then....he will definitely be reborn as Beast. Heh, just talking about it has expedited the process...I may as well make him today....
