you would think over 5 years of PSO games the new revamped step into the evolution of this series would have corrected such a minor problem as this. If words hurt you, you should be shot. I can't understand some words just for the sake of it being not spammed with vulgar language but even slight references to anything the slightest bit obscure or confrontational is censored. PMs being censored makes me laugh every single time I forget, type it, and then see it censored. Its a plural of something inherent to the game and, settting that aside, since when did "PMS" become an unacceptible word in our cultural vocabulary anyway. Its just slang having an angst-ridden day. PC society is just a bit out of control. Then I look at the other things censored in PSU and am reminded well, they seem to have sort of simply censored randomly and haphazardly, but.. still. This game would censor Walt Disney through the roof. But you gotta love it. I just wished that they had a review text for Player Mail messages (just like you can bring up the last thing you types), so you can quickly fix and edit the text, to make it uncensored.

Simple Mail is the main problematic issue of censorship because you can't redit the text. Once it's censored, it is gone forever. So it kind of sucks after you spent a minute or so coming up with a good message for somebody, only to have it completely wasted.

Then you have to find the offending word(s) (not always easy). So if it is a long message, you're forced to retype that long message each time. Sometimes you simply say, "forget it" and don't bother.

Outside of that, it isn't much effort to press "up" on the keyboard, to get your last message, and edit it a little. The solutions are there, but for a good while, you don't even realize you typed something that is going to be censored, so you have no idea what to fix. So the quick retry method (to find it) only works for direct chats (Public/Party).

I think the chat filter does more to teach people different vulgarities from around the world than it does to protect people from them.
