Which One Of These Are More Important, To Playing Pso?

umm well if you have the BBA then you can be online which is a HUGE part of the game, whereupon you could use the soft keyboard.
now maybe it's just me but i'd much rather have a fast connection with a BBA and soft keyboard than have a slower connection with 56k while pretty much everyone has to type slowly with s. keyboard. even tho you yourself can type fast, you'd have to wait long for them to respond.

very good debate tho

BBA.

If it was 56k only, I probably wouldn't play.

Gotta be BBA, since I am not going to fork out money for a dial up account that I would only use to play PSO. Was bad enough paying for both DSL and dial up when was playing PSO on the dreamcast.

Since not everyone has the luxury of a broadband connection, I have to go with the keyboard on this issue. Communication would be a lot easier if keyboards were more prevalently available to the masses. I'm currently discouraged from playing online right now simply because it's frustrating trying to communicate with a sluggish software keyboard. A BBA or even a dial-up modem currently means very little to me compared to the ease a keyboard could bring. *sigh.

Sounds to me like Vulpes likes to play in slow motion and type while doing it. No offense but being happy with 56K is like being happy with a Yugo that can barely get you up that hill than that Honda than can do it with breeze....keyboard would be nice but who really cares, not really enough ppl that have the keyboard anyway, you respond faster so what, and the faster you talk the faster you lose the intersest of conversation, well i know a lot of you have keyboards that talk to each other but keyboard over Broadband c'mon! get f'ckn real. Dish out the extra money for a faster connection and be happier, why not? After all it would do us BBA peeps a favor than to guess where you 56kers will pop up after every 5 seconds. LoL, definetly BBA! Peace.

since i have experienced very little lag and i use a 56k modem, i would have to say keyboard. the game has been alot less laggy this time. all those who got a bba to negate lag- you wasted your cash.

BBA, 'cause my phone bill would be through the roof otherwise =>_<= jesus, I used to be under the impression that local calls were flat rate. Ahahahaha =>_<=

What's all this 'fast connection vs. slow connection' stuff I'm reading? Most of the time that I'm playing, there's little to no lag on 56k for me. My friend who's using a BBA has lag every now and then, so I really don't see the difference. The only time I had a real noticable lag was in Ep.2 Seabed... in those rooms with the reflective water floor. From what I've read here, that's just a GC rendering issue as opposed to a modem connection lag.

I voted for the keyboard.

I voted the keyboard. Like others, I am one of the unlucky souls with a 56k. Now, im still saving up for the GC version, but a freind of mine has the BBA for PSO and says he has lagged some. Back on the DC though, I usually had no lag. Although my 56k connection is kinda like a cable modem, since ive kinda worked on it if ya know what I mean http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif. Also, its really troublesome to sit there trying to type to someone on the damn crappy screen keyboard, and the person leaves, or says, "Hello?". And you still are sitting there typing, and by the time your done typing the person is already gone.

well, you dont need a keyboard offline...... and you cant get online without a bba, so i think the bba is more important too, and people should be a little more patient if you talk... ust my preference

I didn't vote... coz they r both equally important to me, without the keyboard, even if I have the BBA, I can't talk to people, and that is no fun; without the BBA I can't get online, then no point for getting the keyboard..... but if what u menat is, which one to get 1st.... then I'll say BBA

Keyboard. What's the point of going online really really fast if you can't communicate with other people! That's the whole point of going online!

BTW, the poll is whacked... It shows the keyboard results on top and the BBA below, but on the voting boxes it's reversed, BBA on top and keyboard below. I almost voted for the BBA! I swear I AM NOT FROM FLORIDA, OK?

back on my DC PSO, PAL users only had 36k modems... which even today gives me a good PSO experience.

occasional lag problems but about as frequent as christmas http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif misery overcome by the kb http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

For those of you who use BBA, there's something you should know. PSO has a limitation to the amount of information it sends and receives in each packet. It was designed for a dial-up modem, so no matter what your connection it communicates at around 56k (the X-Box version may change that as it only use a BBA, but that remains to be seen). A BBA doesn't really give you an advantage over the dial-up users. And if you play on a team hosted by a dial-up user, you're stuck routing through her/his connection and getting absolutely no benefit from your BBA. A keyboard is far more important than a connection that goes to waste on this game, IMO.

I personally have had no problem using E1&2 with a dial-up (as opposed to some minor problems with the DC versions). I don't lag (maybe I just have a good ISP). I don't jump around. And I don't get disconnected. And I've run across few dial-up users that do. Brag all you want about your superior connection, and then weep when you figure out you're no better off than the rest of us. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wink.gif http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

the reason there are 2 modems is the pure and simple fact that it makes more sense. If someone is using broadband, they dont wanna pay for a dial-up isp and vice-versa. I currently have dial-up, so im not gonna get the BBA. The lag problems on other online games are due to the different computer systems. For example, on EverQuest, it took me a good 3 minutes to zone, but after i upgraded my RAM it took me about 30 seconds. My friend who uses cable usually only beats me a little bit. The dfferent modems are purely for convience (sp?), not for super fast cnnections.

You can manage just fine with no keyboard. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif
