Handgun, crossbow, machinegun, or cards?

What, IYO, is the best single-handed ranged weapon? I've been using the machinegun, and it's served me pretty well (despite what other people say). What I really want to know is how good are the cards. Supposedly crossbows are rape in the long run, handguns are "meh", and machineguns are crap.

So vote and post your thoughts.

cards are best if you don't need to spread the damage. And boy do cards rape bosses. But for more every day use, crossbows probably work better. I chose cards though.

I like the cards due to their 3x damage with lvl11+ PA. They arent exactly efficient in speed but at least they are still able to attack flying enemies if you lock-on. Since it's 3x the damage, it's also 3x the chance of adding SE http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif

If everyone had at least one guntecher, they'd click crossbow and click it hard.

Decent damage X3 + Status effect 3 + can wield with wand for quick resta/reverser = best gun ever.

I have to even find a crossbow. Where do they sell it? I tried even the player shops and I couldn't find crossbow, in the list. I was actually looking for one, last night, to replace the hand gun.

In Neudiaz and Guardian Colony, I could find the bullets for them, just not the weapon itself.

Hmmm, so crossbow it is. Sounds like a one-handed sawn-off shotgun of the future to me. Now thats somethin gangsta right there. Still gonna keep the mechgun though, good combo w/ the saber.

Hmmm, I want to try out the cards though. 90k is pretty steep, but who knows, I might like it

Are you a guntecher or fortegunner? If so go crossbow, if figunner go handgun.

I myself am a Guntecher, and I have heard that crossbows are ideal for them. Does anyone know what each weapon's max status effect level is?

SE 1 - Mechgun
SE 2 - Card
SE 3 - Handgun and Crossbow

Also, for ultimate PAs.

HP Steal - Card and Handgun
Lower HP = more damage - Crossbow
Faster attack speed (at 1% ATA) - Mechgun

As a newman lvl 59, guntecher 5, with the xbow and ice shot at lvl 28, i hit fire mobs for 175avg dmg times 3. thats 525 dmg per shot, as the lowest atp race! with an agtaride its well over 200 per hit. And dont get me started on how effective the lvl 3 status is with the fire rate and number of shots. Its frequent that every enemy on the screen will be froze from me alone. I was a force, but now after getting a taste of crossbow, I dont think I'll ever go back. Straif+insta reverser/resta(resta for 600 btw http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif) is just too good, and so much fun. More status applied, more heals thrown, and the ability to dodge most attacks while never lettin off the trigger. I think we have a winner!

Well I started using the crossbow the other day and I have to tell you at first, IT SUCKS ASS! It levels SOOOOO slow. I finally got it to lvl 11 but I couldn't take it so I started using my cards again http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif Maybe I shoulda given it a little longer...but oh well...

Looks like my next purchases are gonna be for a crossbow and cards, (don't recall what they're named in the game) that is, after I buy my assassin rifle. Thanks for the input everyone.
