View Full Version : Beware the trade window (PSU-360)

In talking with a friend who is level 38ish, he told me a story about a trade window glitch.
Basically, he was in a lobby and someone was soliciting (read: spamming) a double saber for sale, 31000 meseta. This fried really likes double sabers, so he took a look at it, then decided to buy it. The two opened up a trade window and he told me since he was dealing with someone he didn't know, he was being careful about what was listed in the windows at all times. Anyway, after both items were confirmed and the finalization took place (during which his meseta and the double saber were both present in their respective trade windows), the trade ended and he noticed the "seller" running away as fast as he could. He then checked his inventory to equip the double saber and saw that it wasn't there. He THEN checked his meseta and it was gone as well. Basically, he gave the guy 31000.
Now, I was warning some people in a PuG that I joined later about this and one of the members in there said that he had lost 31000 as well. I asked him if he was buying a double saber and he said yes.
I'm not sure what the glitch is AND I'm not certain that there even is a glitch (as it didn't happen to me), however the friend is a VERY reliable source and hearing it happened to someone else solidified my opinion.
Beware the trade window! Has anyone else heard of this??

I never trade with unknowns, myself. Not in any game.
But as a precaution, if you really wanted to get their gamertag first. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

Ive heard of this happening on the 360 as well. If someone is legitimately trying to sell an item, and youre interested in buying, always insist they put it up for sale in their shop. To my knowledge, you cant scam someone in this manner via the shop function. If they refuse, then F em. You'll know right then and there what theyre trying to do.

what happends if you were getting it for free in a trade window?.. like i got 3000 meseta for free a week ago from an unknown.. nothing happend..

If its a one-way trade, then it really doesnt matter. I'll take free stuff from people all day long if they wanna waste their time and money. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif Its only when youre involved in a two-way trade that you have to be careful.

He was probably overly ecstatic and didn't see the other guy remove the Double Saber from the Trade window.
Either way, he's a tool for thinking anyone would sell a Double Saber for that price.

Not always. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif It's true that you need to be cautious, but sometimes a good deal is just a good deal. ...People sell things for too cheap (by accident and/or when they just don't like the weapon and need money right that instant). I bought a 7* crossbow for 40k a couple nights ago on PC, from someone that couldn't deal with the grind of lvling bullets for it. Anyway, at least it was just 31k and not like, 110k or something. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

It's probably a glitch people are taking advantage of. I normally go to shops to buy things. I've never herd this story.

I was thinking the same thing at first but I know this person IRL and he is a bright individual. He wouldn't have been too "overly ecstatic" to not notice something was taken out of the trade window. 31000 is a lot of money at his level. I'm pretty sure he watched each step carefully.
I would not have posted this if I had thought he was just being careless.
Take it for what it is though.

Sigh. Another part of the game <beep>ed up by assholes. How many parts of the game do players have to miss just because some people have to <beep> every hole they can find?
Not fed up with PSU yet, but already getting seriously fed up with the <beep>ers in the population. Not asking people to turn into a bunch of hippies. (although that would actualy be nice to see) But apparently it is too much to ask for some respect.
I'll stick to getting everything myself. It's what I am good at. It will be lonely, it will be boring. But hey, that's me......... http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif
