View Full Version : PSU in December 2006 Login magazine

On my recent trip to Little Tokyo in downtown Los Angeles I found a cool Japanese magazine called Login, which had PSU on the cover. I took a scan of the cover which can be found here: http://img219.imageshack.us/img219/7867/psu002ed3.jpg

I was thinking about scanning some of the stuff inside, however it seems mostly just general information about the game, its history, characters, etc. There is a cool time line though, but of course it's all in Japanese (if someone wants to translate scans then please let me know and I would be happy to post some more pages).

Ok Pentence here are the scans of the 2 page timeline. If you can make anything of it please let me know.

Also yea Alisha that is a nice pic of Mirei, exactly what caught my eye at the bookstore!

Lastly check the link below. I made a scan of the top 20 chart in the mag which shows PSU as #1! I guess the Japanese know a good think when they see it. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wink.gif

Yea I too was surprised how popular FFXI still is in Japan. I have a friend who still plays FFXI but hopefully he will move to PSU when he gets a 360.

Guess it's been a while since anyone's looked at this (http://www.pso-world.com/viewtopic.php?topic=128973&forum=20). Hopefully we'll get lucky this time and someone will be bored/inspired enough to actually translate it.

I'm not making any promises, but I'll see what I can do with translating this as I have time. Currently, I'm finishing up my translation of the PSO ep.III timeline (http://www.espiokaos.com/misc/ep3_timeline.html). Once I finish that, I'll see about getting started on this one.

If you don't have the time, I can ask a friend of mine. If she's not too busy, she might also be able to translate. (She's currently doing the Phantasy Star Memorial Drama CD. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif)

I believe the 3rd game is Lineage 2 Chronicle 5. Looks like 2 and 4 are the same game with 4 being a premium edition. Some romance of the 3 kingdoms game I'd guess.

That epsiode 3 timeline is great!
Ep 3 was a bunch of knots with how you had to play through on multiple guys just to get the most out of it. I am a plot nut for these games, and am still trying to rack up everything for my website.

I've already started a PSU timeline, so it will be super interesting to see how it compares with this one!

FFXI's popularity in Japan isn't too surprising; I played it for two years. I met lots of Japanese players. I don't know how WoW fared over there, but FFXI seems like the only MMORPG that's gained any foothold in the Japanese market.

Never expected PSU to be #1 so quickly, though. That's pretty cool.
