To answer your first question, if you're soloing, stick to the fourth floor of the colony for their missions until you're confident enough to tackle Parum.

To answer your second question, your party can be maintained even though not all party members are currently at the area where the mission's taking place. Hell, in a group of five people, one member can be at the mission, one can be on the colony, another could be at Parum, another could be at Neudaiz, and the last one could be on Moatoob-the mission would still be going.

Hope I helped =D

I'd say stick to Linear Line till you hit level 10. Then find a good group to let you stay with them during De Ragan C runs. At Level 10 you should focus on getting tags mostly on Ragan until you know you can get tags on most mobs. When you hit 15 raise the up the bar with De Ragan B instead. Now don't be to repeative on De Ragan like everyone likes to do apperently so roam to other planets, make friends and try to stay away from Ragan when you get bored of it. Other then that try to enjoy PSU, Welcome to Phantasy Star Universe!

The entire game itself is not 100% legit but in this game, you do not have to be modified in order to kick ass.

Check my lv 50 Figunner. When my brothers and I get together....well lets say things die. All of us are fully legit, no problems. Not to mention the only wide spread "hacks" are duplicating meseta. And in that case, just buy your items from NPC stores and vuala! Problem solved.

To go deeper: There are no ways to modify weapons in order to make them "SUPER UBER POWERFUL!!11!!!" Sure, some money duplicating moron could buy a whole bunch of grinders and try to grind all his "purchased" items and then re-sell them, but there is always the destinct chance that the weapon will break during grinding. And thus more money is wasted.

EDIT 2: If you need any help OP, I'll be glad to lend you a hand. I don't give money, but I'll help you earn it.

what does the [B] on certain item names mean?

it means it is a board you can put in your PM to synthesize said item.

I find Moatoob is best at first. You can do Valley of Carnage at level 5 (or atleast I did with an alt) and get lots of mission points in order to raise your class level.

Yeah, Valley of Carnage is a pretty fast way to level a lowbie. I'm still in the runrelicsoverandoverandthrowindereganbeverysooften mind set that I was in when the game fist came out.

Fire breath = nono

Parum is still your best bet as a beginner after 4th floor colony. Maybe around level 5-7 or so head over and join some parties on parum. Almost always a few people running Mad Creatures C.

I'd say no to moatoob for a beginner. You don't want to deal with status effects, not to mention spells like diga in your face. Even taking lv 20-30s solo VoC C can get rough if you are careless.

unless you have someone escorting you - someone higher level than you who lets you hang back and tag.

I was soloing Moatoob at level 12 - of course, this WAS with 38% fire resist so I could sneer at vandas, but still...

Yeah, stick to Parum for low level teams first, try to meet people, and generally have fun.

Tomorrow I'm taking a couple of my lowbie friends through the Grove of Fanatics C rank (with my lv 59 character, gotta update it) leveling her Gizonde... would you care to come? I'll keep you alive, no worries. XD
