View Full Version : What is the Strength of the Buff spells dependant on?

I heard that leveling up the spells themselves merely increases the duration they are active on your character....so does that mean the Tech/Mental ability of your character will determine how strong it will be?...I'm gonna switch my beast to a Wartecher in a few days, Does that mean my shifta will be much more weaker compared to a fortetecher Humans for instance? Also, are the buff spells themselves stronger than the item buffs?

anyone?

TP affects it's actually numerical boost
Lv of buff affects its duration and effective radius (as well as a signifcant numerical increase at lv's 11, 21 and 30)

...but I'm not 100% sure on that...

Level 1-10: 10% Stat increase, 2 minute duration
Level 11-20: 15% Stat increase, 3 minute duration
Level 21-30: 20% Stat increase, 4 minute duration

There ya go; straight from the lolibrarian. I swear you have http://www.psupedia.org memorized!

...but I think she is asking what your TP affects with the buff techs...?

Also, if you read the description of the spell, you see the strength of the spell (as a number) appear. I think Lv30 for say, Shifta or Deband will give a buff of Lv5. Could be higher. Best Ive seen so far was Lv3 or 4 for the buff. Anyone who's seen a Lv30 buff spell can correct me.

so u mean that the higher one's TP, the higher the effect of a buff will be?

Remedy
Jan 8, 2007, 02:24 PM
It doesn't. A Beast Wartecher's Shifta 10 will be just as potent as my Shifta 10... or Shifta 2... or any level of Shifta between 1-10.

Now, once it breaks to 11, then yes, it'll be stronger, but that'll be no consequence of my higher TP; rather, it's the fact that it's a higher level spell/

TP doesnt effct it

its time-based, on the spell, as the unofficial PSOW Librarian stated

so, if ur a wartecher/guntecher , it will be the same as being a fortetecher

Yeah, I believe Resta & attack spells are affected more by MST & TAP. Regular stat buffs just seem to improve through usage (thats why I use em all the time offline http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif ).

Sexy, can't wait. Haveing only a 5% stat increase difference between 20 and 21 seems kind of lame to me honestly..but at least im not missing out on higher lvl techs buff wise, so in the end that makes me a happy camper. Ahh...being able to go into beast mode..heal..buff..debuff.AND resta!? Sheer teh pwnage to teh maximum

Remedy

Resta and the offensive spells are indeed boosted through TP, as well as gaining more TP conversion (the percentage that your TP is multiplied by for final damage/healing calculation) as they level. Reverser and the Buff technics do not gain any sort of power from TP but only as they level, gaining longer ranges, more statistical boost power, and longer durations.

And it's got nothing to do with PSUP. I just translate the JP Wiki and work out the kinks that Google Translator puts in there. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

Very nice. I've pretty much reserved my Technique spots for any and all Buff spells. They will be mine. I'm just waiting for those to come out. Sega is just holding out because secretly they know they make among the most powerful abilities around, with quite possibly the cheapest overall PP cost (compared to the gain).

Screw that, when hunters learn how to use Sol Atomizer to cure freeze/paralyze/sleep on us, then we'll talk about giving them stat increases. I swear, I only keep you hunters alive so I can get an S rank....mumble, grumble.....

Until then, I'm gonna use that dark type buff that only affects the caster! >_<

I will be using them not so much as to make them feel better, but more to speed along missions. If they do 10% more damage (and me too, with Retier), take 10% less damage, hit 10% more, evade 10% more... You get my point. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

And when I'm with my friends, I do have Sols used on me if I'm the only Fortecher around. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_eek.gif

Rashiid, come along to the 360 meet up and get everyone's cards, that's the best way!
Or just go to uni 15 and send your card to everyone you meet! http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif

Don't worry, I will buff nobody in my party. Instead, I will be focus greatly on debuffs, where very few FT's will take on the challenge of doing. I will still use the tech raises TP though(I'm not missing out on that).

I know I've seen it stated before by one of the know-it-alls here that the item is actually equal to the Lv 3 version. So an Agtaride = Lv 21+ Agtal.

Btw, it should be noted that if you are debuffed (like by our lovely worm friends or Svaltus), or buffed with a different level of the status magic, it will overwrite the one you previously had active. So if hit with Lv 1 Agtal (10%) while having a Lv 3 Agtal (20%) active, it will shift to the Lv 1 version and start it's count anew. If hit with Agdeal while Agtal, you will lose your buff entirely and then be debuffed rather than it just canceling out and leaving you normal. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime2.gif
