hold on, so there are gonna be S rank weapons, and for every weapon type available? if so, then I guess I think I'll forget the Heavy Twins and go for Two-Headed Ragnus.

No, there won't be.

More than likely, that just means there'll be some 10* synthesis materials in the shop or something.

I think the Buff and Debuffs will cost me 43K. That is, if we have 3 different techniques, each. Not too bad. I have over 30K right now. I might have more, when I get back; if my store sold anything.

My PM might suffer a bit; but it looks like my chances of getting them, when the update comes around, is 100%.

No, 9* boards.

The 10* weapons and synth mats is a misprint unless JP is getting new 10* weapons. To my knowledge, all the possible 10* synth mats are already available.

but will these next level PAs do more damage or just "look cool"... I'm going to bother unless there's some serious worthwhile benefit

Schubalts
Jan 9, 2007, 07:35 PM
Some do more damage, some hit more enemies, some execute faster than others, some have lower or higher PP costs. They all have different functions compared to current PAs.

An example is the knuckle PA we have now. It's a ton relatively quick attacks that can rack up a lot of damage to a group of monsters.

The PA we're getting Friday is a single, slow charge that hits multiple enemies/targets, or one enemy multiple times. It also knocks away every enemy that is hit by the charge, and each hit can knock down larger enemies.

So, it's all personal choice for which ones are worth it.

Yeah. He's that committed. I actually hit my record of over 50K saved up, last night. Thanks to business from my store and some good runs. Lost some of that due to buying the wrong gun. (Darn, thought it was double). Still, not a big loss, and if people find my store, I should make it back fairly quickly. Still, it's a great single-handed gun. Can anyone confirm/deny that putting jellen/shift on the same wand has any sort of additional effect?

Also, can you use reverser to get rid of the damage you take from the spell Megistar? Cause that's a wand combo right there! (Megistar/reverser)

i know theres aboost for having 4 spells of the same element on your rod. I dont know if the modifier helps with Jellen or zalure if it is equipped.

The only way i know that the /buffsdebuffs work is if you use them repeatedly. Itsuki-chan, remedy and inazuma could better inform us.

1) if they're both stat boosters/degraders, then no.
the tyme lengh/effect is the same

2) No, megistar's status is not really a status, just drains HP, cant reverser wats not there http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif

Akaimizu
Jan 10, 2007, 02:38 PM
Hmm. So the info is that stat boosters/degraders don't level up like the other techniques(possibly increasing their amount of boost/degrade)?

So if they don't level up, I guess that's why they don't get a boost for being together. I always thought the boost was simply faster increasing EXP for levelling them up.

Rashiid
Jan 10, 2007, 02:44 PM
Stat boosters do level, but the speed of their leveling doesnt change, reguardless of wat you put it on

putting them on the same rod/staff would increase the elemental %, but thats no help unless you have like Foie/Rafoie/Damfoie/Shifta

it would effect the other Foie Family's power, but Shifta remains Shifta

I seriously doubt that 10* weapons or boards will be available for purchase on the 12th. I don't even think the Japanese can buy these yet. On the otherhand, 10* boards are already available as loot, i.e. Crea Doubles and the Halarod.

Here is what I think we will recieve in terms of weapons:
We will have the ability to purchase 8* weapons/armors directly from the NPC Merchants for 180K.
We will be able to purchase 9* synthesis boards for weapons/armors from the NPC Merchants for 165K.
Vulcaline will be available for purchase from the Synthesis shop for 8K.

I'm pretty sure that none of the buffs or debuffs rely on TP. And I think the ones that drain your HP to keep their effect going don't rely on TP, but I never used them so I'm not sure.

just here to clarify that de/buffs are not effected by TP and are not effected by being on e.g. a rod with techs on the same type e.g. 3 foie spells with shifta, shifta will still be the same so you might aswell just put all 4 buffs and debuffs on the same rods together to get them casted quickly

not sayin just diss em, but get them last

Akaimizu
Jan 10, 2007, 04:49 PM
Well, you know it that us guntechers will be all over those Buff/Debuff techs. I've been looking forward to them since day one of the US release, even more so when I first heard about expert classes and already decided which one I would be.

Still, I'm one to believe we can share and share a like. Since techers also need to concentrate on their primary, they will be stretched to use *all* the buff/debuffs at the same time. In some cases, we can always use another technique chucker, to cover the other half or something. It's always nice to have everybody free to concentrate on raising precisely what they want to raise, at the time. Maybe it's a good strategy to pick them last, but then again, there's benefits both ways.

Even before the buffs, I've technique-shared with quite a few forces, just so we could raise what we want, and make it easier to concentrate on select techs per mission run.

I think it just means that (more) 10* boards for weapons will drop, and 10* synth items will be available. They never say "You will be able to buy" in that sentence.

That's great. But we're not getting purchaseable 10* Weapons on the 12th. We wouldn't get these ahead of the Japanese, it just isn't happening.

On the otherhand, the Crea Doubles and the Halarod are already obtainable on our servers. To my knowledge those are still the only 10* weapons the Japanese have so I don't believe we'll be getting any new 10* weapon boards.

I'm a 60 Guntecher 6, and I'm not that particularly interested in Buffs. I'm probably only going to pick up Agtal and Zodial. These are probably the only ones which would actually have a noticeable impact at only a 10% boost.

Seriously, look at your Stats, what the heck is 10% of your defense going to do? I know it includes the Shield Line into the equation but even the best Shield Line and the Best Race/Job/Gender combo at level 70 only yields 372 defense, add the Deband and you're looking at a 37 point defense boost? So you're taking 7 or 8 less points of damage per hit? Honestly, not worth my time to cast this on you. Even if I was a Fortetecher and had this Technic at lvl 21 it would only prevent 14-16 damage, and that is a total joke.

As a Guntecher, my MST and TP is already crap, why the heck would I bother with Retial. The MST boost would reduce a negligible amount of damage. If I were grouped with a Fortetecher they would already have this on themselves and it'd be better.

Oh and btw, If you need Debuffs to tag things, then you're doing it wrong.

I'm getting all buffs because I really don't care what it will do with MY stats. I completely care what it will do with everybody else's stats. In some ways, it'll feel a bit like my role in PSO. I'd help boost the party members and debuff the monsters. Even if I didn't change a whole lot, I'm happy that I effectively turned the party into a powerful wrecking machine.

My defense example was using the stats from a Female Cast Fortefighter 70/10 basically the highest defense possible. Trust me the Deband technique is a waste of meseta. You're free to try it yourself but for my money Agtal and Zodial are the only worthwhile buffs. I'm also basing this off of the experiences of Itsuki-chan who has used these spells on the Japanese servers.

Although our economy on ps2/pc is f'ed up, and hardly anything is for a reasonable purchase in player stores, It is easier to earn money on the ps2/pc servers. I haven't even held 1mil, I can't imagine what it would be like to raise it on a LEGIT economy...

well i have 80k, and thats for the new spells [excluding the buffs for now] and maybe clothes

and extra meseta [im sure ill have 50k left] i might get the buff spells.

i was hoping that they would have sum sort of force/newman clothes coming out.

depending on how much i make before the update 2nite, may just get a card, cane is so lonely on my palette.....

As was said before, Magician was determined, and he's a very shrewd and good Store owner. His reasonable prices has helped his cash flow, and he's been very good about farming for meseta. He's good at knowing which places to go, and he's dedicated. His amount of play hours shows it. I can vouch for his legitimacy.

The effort it takes me to get 100k meseta on the JP server is almost equal to the effort it takes me to get 1mil on the US server. ~_~ Sad but true.

I don't know how it is on the 360 though.

You are correct sir! Sorry that circus thing is contagious. I partied with you Nyasia, Isobel, Magician, and Aurelianis last week, but I've been under the weather lately so lately I've only been online long enough to check my shop.

I guess Itsuki-chan is right about the economies. I think I usually pay 1 or 2k for copernia. Maybe Shimarisu will drop in and give us a 1st hand comparison.

If you're level 60, do the first room in the 2nd Story mission over and over. You should net yourself at least 5 copernia an hour doing this.

So do you know what S rank weapons we are going to get(from next patch[12.1])? Any new double sabers, or only Crea Double?

9* weapon boards, yes
10* weapon boards, no

The only 10* weapons still available in JP are Crea Double and Halarod.

We (NA & EU) are always one step behind JP, so even if JP received new 10* weapons we will not see them until the update after 1/12.

Well, that reply was directed towards Kesena. As a PC/PS2 you may very well get new 10* weapons, but us X360 players are always a step behind PC/PS2, that's what I meant and not so much "NA&EU vs JP" since a good number of JP players are on X360.

I dont think people really consider the bonus of deband [especially when its leveled beyond 11] for missions like Onma s. The def boost + your appropriate armor element can or will save you alot of scapes and PP for the healer.

Im getting the debuffs as well. People say "Lame; if you need to use debuffs to tag blah blah blah." Personally? I dont want my team mates getting flattened to the floor by S rank mobs. Deband is what theyll get and you can bet yer ass ill be soloing a ton to get it up past 11. Same for my debuffs. Ill be leveling all of these so that i can ideally take care of any group that i may be in. Tagging with debuffs will free me up to level my attk spells better without fear of losing exp.

I have a different philosophy to my playstyle. I have been waiting patiently in the background slowly leveling my force to get to fortetecher so that when i did finallly get these spells id still be leveling them on my force job. I'll have greater enjoyment of my playtime in this way.

I believe a better outcome can be achieved overall by working your debuffs/buffs/nuking than just selecting 2 of the three. Does this mean that possibly ill have a bigger headache for spells on different rods? Yep.

Akaimizu
Jan 11, 2007, 03:43 PM
You might have that headache, but then again, that's what cooperation is for. It's not like us -techers are planning on *not* sharing spells if another technique chucker is in the party. I'll just kindly ask which techs are you trying to raise, and I'll choose the other ones. However, you best bet that I'll probably not volunteer attack spells unless you really insist. Folk like us often consider their offensive spells a joke for damage, and wont pretend to think that they can substitute any of those for ones from a real force.

Resta, Reverser, Buffs, Debuffs. Oh yeah, we'll share them if only to help you raise certain things faster, allowing you to concentrate on your favorite techs. And of course, to make your wand/staff configurations, a doddle to handle.

My preference [from my days as FFXI RDM] is to keep buffs up on my party members, debuff the mobs and nuke last.

My siggy does say guntecher on it but i really want to play force/foretecher. Ill be doing plenty of soloing/duoing to get my spells up on my own. I want all my buffs/debuffs on par for when my character hits that 50 level mark to do s ranks.

I'll def look out for you though akai if you want to level certain techs and we are partying together http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif That goes for anyone else too.
