Notice: today's word coxcomb

coxcomb KOKS-kohm, noun:
1. obsolete. A cap worn by court jesters; adorned with a strip of red. (Now cockscomb).
2. archaic. The top of the head, or the head itself.
3. Obsolete. A fool.
4. A vain, showy fellow; a conceited, silly man, fond of display; a superficial pretender to knowledge or accomplishments; a dandy; a fop.

If thou follow him, thou must needs wear my coxcomb.
-- William Shakespeare, King Lear

Cockscomb? Luda talked about that once in one of his radio hits, about afros, I think.

Moo has his own wives and other people's wives?

The odds are always in my favor where wives are concerned, except when rhymed with the word knife. I don't fuck around with that.

I realize that this word describes my oldest brother-in-law, to the letter.
