Swimsuit Trick?

Now i've seen this in game and on plenty of jp PSU sites, how do you wear top or bottoms of swimsuit with reg clothing? I may be missing somthing simple here, but any help is appreciated.

the swimsuits we get later are seperate top and bottom clothing unlike the one piece we got yesterday. so u can mix and match em apparently, thats what i heard anyway, correct me if im wrong?

Since the secret is out, I had a good idea as to why it worked, and figured out a working method:

Equip your swimsuit. Now, have your character in My Room, right at the dressing room entrance and be ready to enter. Go to your ethernet cable and get ready to take it out. Enter the dressing room, and as soon as you hear the character creation music, remove the ethernet cable. Wait for the menu to appear, then plug the ethernet cable back in.

Basically, the game knows you're equipped with the swimsuit, but it misses out on the updating of the menu. Once you put on an item, like a pair of shoes for example, the menu will re-update with your wearing the swimsuit as well as the shoes or pants you just put on.

Normally I'm against "exploits", but this one is pretty harmless and is purely aesthetic. Now I can wear my black swimming trunks with a pair of shoes and run around shirtless, which is really all I wanted. Whoo!

Arms are in the same slot. Doesn't work that way. They'd cover up eachother. This does allow you to walk around looknig like you have clothes on, but really be in your birthday suit. Some people used to use this same exploit to put their clothes in their bank and have a few extra spaces in their inventory to do whatever.

I was playing without music, but as a slightly butchered version of Parn's method found that as soon as the "PHANTASY STAR UNIVERSE" loading screen dissapears and you see your character there in the fleshies, just unplug and replug by the time the clothes list shows up. I'm using a Wi-Fi adaptor dish thing, but also found that I could also make this work by quickly disabling my internet connection through Windows and then re-enabling via Network Settings/right-click option in the system tray.

But, yeah, sweetness all round!

I've had a similar glitch happen to me~nyo. No clothes were equipped yet my schoolgirl uniform was on the character~nyo. I was using Utorrent at full power at the time~nyo.
Did I mention the huge server lag that came with Utorrenting~nyo?

If you're on >>>XBOX<<<

Join a friend's session and eventually when you go to your room it will accidentally take you to theirs. When this happens, all of your clothes are shown on, but unequipped.

So put on the swimsuit, log out, and join someone else's session that is online already. When you finally come in their room, with the suit, it will show that its off and you can go buy clothes to put on "over" it.

Make sure you go to the server select and hit MY ROOM. You have to be taken to someone elses room from the universe select, not a vision phone.

I'm wearing about 50k worth of clothes but dont have them anymore because I put them up for sale and got about 35K back.

I couldn't get this to work. I tried the ethernet removal strategy where you remove it when you hear the music, and plug it in when you see the menu, but nothing special happened. It just did the same thing as usual where when I tried to equip something else it said "This cannot be worn with your current outfit." Any ideas?

Took me a few tries using the ethernet cable. When it does work it won't prompt you with the 'cannot be worn over outfit' message.

Just try pulling the cable maybe a tad bit earlier, but not too early that you dc.

Anyway I was very fucking drunk to boot. Don't have my 360 plugged in atm but did you know that on 360, if you do "join session in progress" and move to a friend's room while they are in their room, all your clothes get dequipped but you're visibly still wearing them? I used this glitch to farm tons of cast parts way more quickly than taking them off in the changing room. Of course sometimes on 360 you get DCed doing this... but anyway, try it.

I really dont understand why sega wouldnt let us do this originally, obviously the clothes are just covering eachother up, why would it be so hard to simply add that into the clothing selection programming? I mean with this, you can get some pretty uinque and sick looking character costume combinations.

I think I know why. I guess, to some people, their character is something special to them. They don't want people staring at their hot ass, just like you wouldn't want people checking out your sister. Of course, if this was the case, why make them scantly clad in the first place?

I can confirm that lagging will like Itsuki mentioned will also work (did it in 360). I just started uploading like 4 files on my PC so that it started stealing all the bandwith. Then when loading is taking longer than usual, I went to the dressing room with the swimsuit on and was able to put clothes over the swimsuit.

i said this very same thing about (exept for swimsuits) a month ago in a post trying to confirm the my room glitch thing and got flamed by everyone online for posting a glitch and now its ok because of swim suits what the fuck people your all hypocrites.

I did this earlier with Flaxo Pants and a pink swimsuit- first time the Flaxo pants were visible, but went to my PM, and I have no idea how to create that again.

Mind, its for the best. If anyone sees anyone doing the swimsuit glitch, don't go starting flames and calling them h4x, it's very easily done.

Easiest way to do this glitch (PS2):

1. Equip the swimsuit.
2. Go to the dressing room door and press X
3. The moment you see the loading icon come up pull out your internet cable.
4. Plug your cable back in once you hear the changing room music (loading icon is still there).

It's only a quick 2 second unplug and should not disconnect you. I'm having a 100% success with this right now the unplug and plug in must be done on the PSU loading screen is all.

It only works with the bathing suit, since it allows you to overwrite the clothing "pieces" of the suit. Such as having Regular pants with the bathing suit's bare chest and slippers.

It's all about timing yourself.

As for me (PC/PS2) =

Equip the swimgear and have the clothing you want to have wear.

Right when the PSU loading screen goes away, the very next instant, pull the connection cord out. You should do it BEFORE your character loads onto the screen.

Wait for the menu to appear, then quickly return the connection cord. (If you're not fast enough, it will d/c you under 4 seconds I believe.)

Success will be seen right when none of the clothing are equipted during your time in the changing room in the menu. Now, just start equipting the clothes thats currently in your inventory that you want to wear.

Once you get out of the room, your clothings will be all clumped up into the first clothing you had on (the swimwear).

We can't take pictures with the PS2. Not unless your computer has a video capture card. They only made it possible for PC people to take screenshots. Which is so unfair, we could do it on GC <_< I loved that feature.

I'm trying the 'pulling cord out' method, but I'm getting some strange results. Firstly, I'm on a wi-fi network in the house, and my connection to the hub is pretty good. When I enter the dressing room, I wait until the loading screen disappears and unplug the wireless adapter before the character appears. However, the game disconnects the moment I unplug the adapter. Weirder still, is that I'm able to operate the menu even while the error message is up. Images below.

PC players seem to be having problems doing this trick, so here:

So... Instructions for those on PC:
First off, what you need:
PSU to be running in windowed mode so you can alt+tab.
A bandwidth limiter. Personally, I own Netlimiter Pro and use it to control p2p. But there is a trial version of it here (http://www.netlimiter.com/download.php). I don't know of any free bandwidth limiters, but if you are only using it to do the trick once or twice, you should be fine.
Make a bandwidth rule to limit PSU to something small enough that nothing really gets through, but big enough you can still be pinged. I personally use 200 bytes/second.

Second, what you do:
1) Put the swimsuit on, or whatever outfit is being "bugged".
2) In your room, go into your dressing room then immediately switch to the bandwidth limiter.
3) As soon as the PSU logo shows up, choke your connection (Turn the rule on). You don't have to be very precise.
4) Once your screen loads up, your outfit is bugged. Congratulations. Just put on whatever else you want, then unlimit your connection, and leave.

The nitty gritty of whats really happening:
When going into your room, 2 big packets are sent.

First, you're screen fades to black, and the first packet is sent. You want this one. As soon as that packet is done being sent, you actually see the loading screen (the little PSU logo thing in the corner), a second one gets sent that actually contains what you're wearing. You want this one to be dropped. Theres no reply checking that you got this packet, so the server doesn't know that it got dropped. If PSU doesn't recieve a packet, it assumes thats because you aren't wearing anything. But, the actual visual information for your character is stored somewhere else, and still active. After you leave your room, you resync what happened in the room with the server's database.

BUT, while this is going on, you are occasionally sent a ping, to make sure you're still connected. If you miss any of these, you're counted as offline, and if you try to exit your room, you'll get a 57. So you still want these to go through.

The principals behind why this works are actually the same reasons why duping works. The only difference is the hackers change something themselves before the resyncing.
