Strange VMU issues

I have been having this problem for a little while now. I turn of my DC after playing PSO and my VMU beeps and turns on with the date reset. WTF is with that? anyone know? anyone care? I'll appreciate any help http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/icon_smile.gif

Sounds like battery issues. Might need to replace the battery, and no it doesn't clear the memory.
