Since PSO is sort of coming to a close (long run IMO) and since it had span over a few systems (Just the online games, PC, DC, and GCN-Xbox)what did you think of the game?

What did you think of each character, or in particular the characters you used? Did you like the attack animations of the HUmar or HUcaseal, did you like the magic bonuses of each force, etc.

How did the story hold up for you? Did you have your own story running with other people online, or ven with some friends offline?

What were some of the best (or worst) memories you've had with this game? Have any of you made any really good friends (or rivals) while playing?

Figured i would make a multi topic post here, just for fun.

I liked them all http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

I beat both Episodes with myself, occasionally played with friends, on all difficulty modes.

The Quests, story-line, battles, are awesome, and I enjoyed them alot.

My best time would be when I got into Ultimate, it was fun, and defeating the Ultiamte Olga Flow.

My worst time would be having my data corrupted (once).

The soundtracks/music for PSO rocks! http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

Kireek, he is annoying cool, but crazy to go after your soul.

My other best moments would be playing PSO with my friend, and playing Hunter's Guild Quests.

Lol, that HUcast should feel used...i'm having trouble getting levels in ults (mainly ecause i'm having trouble killing things, still at lvl 60) so i just whack everything once and let him kill them all in the battle training mission lol.

Anyhow, my personal likes about the characters were the style they were made with. I loved the little techno punkerish type of look some of them have, and the music was pretty cool too. My favorite character so far has to be the FOmarl (just looks, haven't really playedm uch of the character) mainly because she's like a queen when she walks with the rod type weapons...plus her inferno bazooka speed was nuts.

The story was pretty good for me, but it had it's holes (a lot of them actually) that i didn't understand. I know i can go look them up and fill in the gaps pretty easily...but i'm lazy and i feel that they should have fleshed it out more for the people that don't want to go all crazy with the background story books for the answers.

Best memories i have right now was when i first started playing. i was a RAcast, i took forever to get past the caves. I remember beating the dragon and saying "that was it? WTF...i spent 30 bucks on that!?!?!)when it was on the DC. Then i found out that you have to talk to tyrell...lol. I remember having a brand ground all the way up in caves (finally had the ba11s to beat the boss at lvl 26 lol) and after all the time i spent grinding up that brand...i found a buster and i was pissed.

I'm glad to say i've never had a crruption (except the one from the DC days, but that's because i was using a 3rd party memory unit that held four memory pools, so i could make four characters)

ahh, fun times.

I thought (and still think) this game is fantastic. It has a certain, I don't know, [i]factor/i] to it that makes you want to continue playing for as long as possible.
I liked my HUcast, and still do. His strength and quite high accuracy makes him almost unstoppable, even on Ultimate. And my RAcast is good too, although he is slightly less powerful...
I don't think much to the story, however. For me, the story is 'level up and find items'.
Because I can't play Online, I sometimes hook up with my cousins on Offline Multiplayer, which has had its moments, like when we first ventured into the Seabed together and defeated Olga.
One of my worst memories - hunting my Frozen Shooter. Which took 4 Hildetorrs, in the space I should have seen about 10.
But, hell was it worth it http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

My one multiplayer experience was awesome. My friend and I tore up Ultimate Mines for a while and trashed Vol Opt, which was very exhilarating given that my FOmar was in the early 90 lvls and had never gained so much exp so quickly. It was cool to play multiple roles as a support FO and an attacker. He was playing a lvl 110 HUmar by the way. His friend visited this said friend's home later, and the three of us repeated the process. He gifted me a legit Agito 1977 +50, my all-time I WANT THAT WEAPON weapon for my FOmar. I am akin to aesthetic ^_^ Maybe around lvl 200 I'll start using it seriously, haha, with that lvl 30 Shifta. We went out to eat at Bertucci's, where he stuffed a pizza crust in his soda glass in a marvelous display of modern art he dubbed something on the lines of 'crashed stealth bomber in coke.' It was an awesome PSO experience.

I am not on online player. It is disappointing that Online quests make such a difference in hunting rares. I wish I could get weapon %s without Gallon, you know? Oh well.

Some costumes are cool... many seem to lack creativity and reak of the term "bullshitted" for color variety. Again, oh well.

I enjoyed the story the first time through. The capsules glowed with suspense. Very quickly, though, the drive is for character improvement. That is, of course, still satisfactory. I like the premise of human migration.

Ah man! I know exactly what you mean!!! I trained my FOmar to level 33 in NORMAL MINES before taking on Vol Opt. LOL When I found my first Soul Frame/Barrier combination I was so ecstatic. And then the shops had a Dragon Frame for sale with 4 slots, and I had to sell my entire inventory (which wasn't very formiddable in reotrospect) to get it!

LOL! I remember having the dragon frame problem with a HUcast i made a few years back (long deleted) I had him at like 45 in ruins and i saw my first dragon frame. I had to sell all my best stuff (cross armor with two slots and a soul barrier lol, my ID didn't find any good armors) but i did have decent weapons for ruins on normal (breakers and stuff)

i remember my mag on my first character (a RAcast named Gold Rush) i gave it 40 mind...lol...i didn't realize mind won't work with androids, or that the mag was really helping my stats.

What did you think of each character, or in particular the characters you used?

I liked the selection of classes. I like FOnewearl as far as casters go; she blew enemies away with her insane MST and the boost to simple techs lets her wipe the floor with bosses. Great character for pure casting. My favourite for physical attacks is HUcaseal. She's the one Hunter that brought multi-hitting weapons to usability, for me. Her animations were so safe (and good looking) and her accuracy so high that it was no problem to hit with weapons that don't seem to want to. My favourite character is HUnewearl, because I liked being able to experience both the caster side and the physical side, as opposed to FOmar and, to a lesser extent, RAmarl. I liked her most because she can be a powerful technique user, but since I noticed as a FOnewearl that techniques stop being new and interesting after you've gotten them all to max Lvl, the great selection of Hunter-only weapons was very appealling. FOmar's cool, but takes too much effort to be made worthwhile up close.

How did the story hold up for you? Did you have your own story running with other people online, or ven with some friends offline?

The plot in the game was nice. I did enjoy it, even if there was too little for my fuller enjoyment (I originally bought the game because of my Phantasy Star 4 memories... lol). I did have made up plots with friends and such. I started off with a FOnewearl, and he started off with a HUmar. Over time, the hilariously romantic subplot between them evolved out of funny ingame gestures and a lack of player/player clipping. Anyway, once we'd gotten well beyond level 100, we wanted a change of pace. Force was getting boring for me, and Hunter was getting boring for him. But we were too scared of losing all of what's familiar to us, so we made new characters in the crossbreed classes, I made a HUnewearl and he made a FOmar. Our story continued to evolve based on the original two; these new ones were their offspring, and had funny, abusive, neglectful relationships with their parents. The HUnewearl was shunned by his HUmar for being a newman, and was shunned by my FOnewearl for taking the path of the Hunter. The same in reverse for our FOmar. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

What were some of the best (or worst) memories you've had with this game? Have any of you made any really good friends (or rivals) while playing?

Best memories were beating Olga Flow in Ultimate together with my friend, underlevelled as always (the best possible way to do anything in PSO, for maximum challenge/enjoyment). The worst was getting two of my other friends into the game. One created the sluttiest-looking HUnewearl that was possible in the game, and always insisted on doing everything "like a man", ie: not dodging anything. He died everywhere, all the time. As the Force, I was really not happy having to drag his ass out of one hole or another, deus ex machina style. The other decided to listen to our explanations (based on experience and PSOW research) of each character class, which seemed fantastic to me, until I realized his motives. He picked the RAcaseal, whose defenses are known to be the best. Then, he maxed out the DEF stat on his mag, instead of putting it somewhere useful. He always ran ahead, shot every enemy once from a safe distance, and raced to the item boxes while the rest of us killed the enemies. He didn't even learn the 3-hit combo, and he didn't need to. His game was gun and run. He also constantly begged to be taken back to Pioneer 2, complaining that his inventory was full. If we didn't go back with him, he'd deviously wait until the rest of us were standing/moving within close proximity to one another, and run up, use a telepipe, and take us all back in an instant (we played the GCN game, offline splitscreen, BTW). They got to level 65-ish and we stopped inviting them.
