Stupid Q: Rare Enemies

Do rare enemies like Rappies ever appear in Offline Mode, or are they strictly Network Mode only?

And are there any other rare enemies other than Rappies?

I heard that they (rappies) don't appear offline, and yes there are other rare enemies other than rappies, but I would get further information on this. There are mini-bosses and other monsters.
