PSU-PC: What happened to Universe 1??

I have been gone for while, and before I left, Uni 1 was always the most popular server. Now, it is completely empty, and everyone plays on Uni 2.

Just wondering how this happened and what caused such a sudden and radical migration!

Anyone know?

I believe Universe 1 crashed a couple of weeks ago, everyone got paranoid and moved to Universe 2 afraid that Universe 1 would crash again...

And now everyone just plays on Universe 2.

I dunno, that's what I heard. I've never experienced this on Universe 1, but on Universe 2 the other night, a bunch of people got disconnected. Ironic.

Indeed. That stupid Uni 1 crashed when I was 1hr30min into Desert Terror S. Everybody just flocked together onto Uni 2. Too bad they didn't disperse evenly.

Uni2 crashes, but not as often as Uni1 did. They'll just move to the next universe if Uni2 becomes as bad as Uni1 used to be.

Something so terrible happened on Universe 01 that no one will ever go back. I can't go in to much detail about what it was, but lets just say... there are monsters everywhere, and running missions blows up your computer. But uni 02 is safe.

I heard that Uni 2 has 50% better droprates for Har/Quick.

Putting the droprate at about 1.07*10 ^ -37, or thereabouts.

I was on the night it happened. I was hanging out on 15 like I usually do, and when I decide to go to my room, I notice 1 was empty. It's like a cursed wasteland now. I've noticed that 7 gets up to one star sometimes. Bunch of Europeans clustering on there?

Yeah, I find it laughable that everyone migrates to another server because the first one dies, thus adding to the strain on the new server and creating a self-fulfilling prophecy.

For crying out loud, there are 18 servers for the PC/PS2, why does everyone have to insist on staying on the same one? You'd think that the grand majority of people would think this, but nope, guess not.

People play on the same server because going through the list, you see one with 5 stars, and if you're looking for a game, you go there.

I have witnessed Uni 1 crashing twice. The first time, people were all like "WTF? Oh well." The second time people were all like "Fgsfds, let's all crowd a different server that will not crash, even though it's just as busy as the old server."

Yep. Crowded server = Crashed server, contrary to the popular idea that Uni 1 = Crashed but Uni 2 = Win, even if Uni 2 is exactly the same.

What dosn't make sense though, if its just for the sake of finding a populated Uni for a run, is that even after the thursday/friday update, when everyone was forced offline for a time, people logged back on, and right into Uni2, despite the fact that server populations were starting from scratch anyways.

I doubt Uni1 is ever gonna recover unless a longterm crash hits 2, in which case people will probably revert back.

Or they'll all go zerg Uni 3. And when that one crashes they'll move to 4 and so on until they reach Uni 15. Oh the horror!
