View Full Version : Dumb Glitch in the new story mission

In act 2 of the new story mission, you cannot use guns to remove the rubble that the first person is under. you NEED to use a melee weapon. After going through all my machine gun, some rifle, dual pistols and shotguns, I hit it 3 times with the dagger and bam.
I easily wasted 3+ minutes with the guns. LOL.

Now, since I destroyed the rubble in the room after the cutscene before the cutscene, it is permanently glitched and i cant continue. What is up with the people who made this mission?

I'm kinda waiting for the c rank missions for the story mode missions to come out. My character is kinda high, but the enemies are kinda up to that point where it's kinda taking forever to kill them.

I dunno about the US version, but this is not a glitch. For story reasons, only a melee weapon will break the rubble. If anything was the biggest clue, the very first box in 2-4-2 will ALWAYS contain a saber.

Something else, more than likely posted before: if you get hit by the last part of any multi-hit trap [like the fireball traps] in the 2nd part of the first mission, your character freezes. You can switch items & all that good stuff...but you aren't supposed to survive the traps I guess. So you can't move. Stoopid.

I am completely stuck in act 2. there is no key, and there is a locked door, and a few more.
I tried going into the room with the 3 boxes and i cant continue on with the mission still.

use your goggles like there's no tomarrow! Also, use your map, since it might show you where you need to go. BTW for those unfortunate lvl 60+'s (like myself) bring 10 mono/dimates, and 10 of the attack and acc/evasion power ups (sorry forgot the names). Ice and earth armor also really help here, along with thunder and fire weapons. Always keep yourself buffed, and spam fast AoE PA's, like double saber/twin dagger's AoE PA's. If you have Assult Crush to lvl 21+, this will greatly help you, since it can tear apart monsters very fast. Memorize all breakable spots (note the people/switches are under the green circled breakables), and you're good to go. Not sure if anyone needed to hear this, but oh well. This stategy got my S rank on it two times in a row.

man, that mission was tough but I somehow managed, and got Maya's card which I have been wanting for so much now. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif

In other news: I need to do the new story mission...

I dont see why everyone is having so much trouble with this mission, I didn't find any glitches in it but I don't use guns or techs so I guess it just works perfectly if your a hunter or fortefighter

Must have just been that one time, I got through it with an S rank a little bit ago. Yay 10 PA frags!

I failed the first try also from not using the saber. Then I remembered destroying them in story mode with a melee weapon.

The second time I still failed. I saved the last person with 30 seconds left but it takes 30-40 seconds off your time for the cut scenes so it failed me. Just a heads up for anyone still doing it.

Another thing that I think is a glitch, is that Laia died on 2 of the tries and it didn't fail me for it. I thought it did if an NPC died or is it just if you do?

I noticed that saber spawn each time as well. I had to actually pick it up because I don't use melee weapons. I do have an off topic question related to Story Missions however.

Is there any way to S Rank the second time trial in Mission 1? I noticed we get 20 PA frags in Mission 2, 3 and 4 but I cannot S Rank that second trial in Mission 1. I was able to get through all of the traps without myself of Laia getting hit by a single trap / enemy in under 3:10. I got 300 Points for clear time resulting in a C Rank. Anything I'm missing or is this the best you can do?

NPC deaths have no bearing on your time trial ranks in story missions. Let them die as much as they please <_<'

S-ranking the second time trial in Mission 1 is bloody irritating, especially for lv60+, as you get a mere 2:50 <_<' Rule of thumb, don't use your goggles to slalom through the first set of traps, use strafe-able/long-range guns/bow to clear out trapped barrels/rocks as fast as possible, cut corners.

I hate buffed bils... It took me awhile to figure out that only melee weapons could break the rubble around survivors, but at least you can abandon and quickly re-enter the time trial.

Ahh ok, I thought it counted if an NPC died as well. They have never died on the other 3 missions so I never really knew. Stupid Bil's and Laia not backing off.

How I got S rank on Mask: Act 2:
At the start, I starting running before the timer even starts. Since I am a ranger, I had my laser cannon and switched to my goggles. I used goggles oh the traps and shot a laser through them to avoid taking the long route. I ran as fast as I could, getting past the fireballs, with Laia dying. I quickly go first person and start shooting all of the boxes. Once the 2 keys appear I stop, grab them, and run to the gate. The next part is tricky, but you can "hug" the walls while running through and the fireballs will miss you. Take no break, go as fast as possible, get the switch, run back, and go through the now-open gate. As you proceed, there will be a treasure trove of crystals. Run semi-close and go first person, shoot 2 or 3 at an upward angle to the right of the tree, and run through. If the pink haired guy talks at about 2:25 or 2:30 on the timer, then you can easily get to the door at 2:50ish, getting an S rank. Although the points are a bit screwy: (3:00 is S, 3:04 is A, 3:07 is B, 3:10+ is C) you can easily save 10 seconds and get S every time.
Hope I helped fellow PSOw players with laser cannons. If my directions are a bit off, then you should still get the general idea and get S anyhow. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

Why even bother stopping to fire at the traps? I find it faster just to take the other path and avoid them all together. That would be right left right while cutting down the tree. I also use the goggles to find the two keys in the boxes. I have done this consistently, and I am able to even grab the two sets of items while getting S Rank.

At 60+ and cutting corners, never getting hit with fire, shooting down the barrels/rocks instead of taking time to scan... I cleared my S-rank with 2:41 x_X Maybe I shouldn't play time attacks on my sorta-laggy laptop... Mizuraki zone doesn't help.

I gotta say though, after that nightmarish HIVE mission (I couldn't S-rank either lv60+), S-ranking both Mission 4 time attacks was a piece of cake.

Along with the HIVE missions, I have difficulty S-ranking the second part of Moatoob (3-2)... its very short but you have to kill everything extremely fast. I haven't been able to do it with my 70 Fortefighter yet. I might try to get my twin daggers back as spears and axes are just too slow to get the job done.
