I've used a few. They're alright for getting a feel for things without having to commit.

The Linux box (much like the pinata) is chillin' downstairs.

Yes, I have used Knoppix a bit in the past. I somehow temporarily lost my CD, but found it earlier today and upgraded it to the newest version. I tried getting the Ubuntu live CDs (of Breezy Badger or Hoary Hedgehog I think), but they wouldn't work on my laptop easily (pretty sure the problem was that the laptop is widescreen).

Ubuntu is the next i try.
(from the Ubuntu page, Desktop-CD)
AFAIK it's a live CD.

The Kubuntu DL is running know.

I think on my next Formating of my Laptop i gonna make a partition for Linux.
Which one i don't know yet.

But i have to say on my system the Knoppix from CD was near by as fast as WiXP from HD.
(Make me think a little bit)

I have seen, that if you have less then 256 MB of RAM you could have problems, then you would have to use the alternate version.

You can install Flash under Xubuntu, but it's slightly more difficult then on Windows.

But if you just read the read me, it's pretty fast done.

Maybe you could try Dapper Drake (6.06) (http://www.ubuntu.com/products/GetUbuntu/download#lts)
