I know this seems like a nub question, but if someone is seen with a weapon that isn't released yet, will they get banned?

I saw a couple of people with S-rank weapons, and oddly they were the same ones on a website where you can buy them...*curious*

Yes, if people submit reports to SEGA about you, you may indeed get banned.

if you'd even consider buying it for real money that's kinda sad. Anyways, if you have a weapon but don't use it publically, no one will know and you'll never get reported and shouldn't get banned. Not condoning it, just saying you can get away with having them

People are total F#$%tards in this game.....they report people for things that ARE released.....and especially me being in the 360 version it's a load of crap for people to even TRY reporting so called cheating......it just doesn't exist on that system.....and if it does, come on....clothing trick?.....big whoop!

I wouldn't say the 360 isn't cheat free... there are other forms of cheating:

Scamming
Board Exploit
Swim suit glitch(even though this makes you look meh)
using the "Safe" points on Plains Overlord

Scamming.....that's not cheating....that's taking advantage of stupid people....

Board Exploit.....that's not cheating....that's taking advantage of SEGA's stupid Synthing Scheme..which we all hate!

Swim Suit Glitch?....Once again, taking advantage of SEGA's stupidity....and frankly...anyone who has a problem with this needs their head examined...in a Scientific Lab...with Scalpuls!

and finally...and my personal Favorite!...Safe Point?!...are you serious!...so you mean to tell me that Shooting an enemy "just" out of it's attack range with my Bow is Cheating?....Or using a Spell that keeps the enemy at Bay like Dambarta?....Once again, you fall into that Scientific Lab catagory with that one http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_lol.gif....

Anyways to my point of quoting you;

Scamming is a form of cheating people who lack common sense out of their goods
Exploiting a glitch IS cheating
I'm not talking about Staggering the enemy I'm talking about the areas in Plains overlord where you can safely stand free to answer mail, Go AFK, and the what not while the enemies mindlessly run into an invisible wall that you can some how bypass and attack from

Scamming happens in real life as well. Most of the time it falls within legal boundaries at that. It isn't cheating, it is taking advantage of peoples greed/lust/idiocy

If the synthing system wasn't so retarded to begin with this wouldn't be a problem. Forgive people for not wanting to lose a board they spent forever trying to get because of a shitty synth rate.

Bad programming isn't cheating... it is just bad programming.

Good points, but Scamming is a form of cheating, because if you get scammed you feel cheated

I see no issues with the synthing system, its like an assembly line unfortunately your PM is only one Cast, So you can't expect her to score 100% on the highest end model of any item. After all Not all cars/toys/game systems, come out like the manufacture wants them too

Now on the synth they could change it to instead of getting a monomate, or something along those lines maybe a lesser model or the item (example: you attempt an A rank rifle and get a High B rank rifle instead) or get SOME not all, but SOME of the original Materials back

Using bad programming to your advantage is technically cheating

But to each their own

Ahem....Dictionary terms......and by them you are right.....however you look at it though it is ALL OF US that are truely being cheated! Paying $9.99 a month should give us more "say-so" in the game than we have....And since we have none and WE are playing the game, NOT Sega....WE should be able to make up our OWN RULES for playing it!...

End Game!

If you get scammed you deserve it to begin with. No use in wasting pity on those who aren't worth it. Scamming is not cheating.

More simple solution? You still lose all synth materials on a fail, but you get to keep the slot on the board. This doesn't allow an infinite amount of retries (seeing as you would still lose the board upon success), people who finally get that S rank board they searched for (which is retarded instead of just getting the weapon ala PSO) don't have to worry about losing countless hours because of bad luck, and it is exactly what the board glitch did.

No, exploiting a bad program isn't cheating. It is exploitation. They did a poor job within the design and had an oops, it happens.

Btw, when scamming is done well it's an art. It's not some "cheat". A good scammer knows his way around people, and can get them to do things they wouldn't normally do. It takes finesse, and it's a hell of a rush.

......LOL! This thread has become quite amuzing indeed http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

I find it offensive that someone would call hiding in those "spots" where the enemy can't hit you cheating......I call it using your brain...if you have one to know where those spots are. Who wants to solo for 2 hours when you can take one of those spots.......what is the big freaking deal if you don't have to heal yourself inbetween every stinking hit of a monsters big smelly arm/snot blast when you can be safe about it and get it done in half the time......it was easy leveling for me to do that on a LOT of missions and because of it I'm a good member to party with instead of bringing the whole group down having to look out for me.....

Anyone who doesn't understand that is a Total NOOB to NOOBS.....and should lick the NOOBlets off of those NOOBs for suggesting otherwise http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_rant.gif

yes yes, I feel if you are scammed, life lesson learned

um your gripe with the synthing system does not give you the right to exploit bad progging, if they take the ability away from the 360 players like they did everyone else, you'd have no right to bitch

by saying "Bad programming isn't cheating... it is just bad programming." you by proxy state that making and using S rank weapons that are not released yet is ok because the progging is poor, you basicly say that if a hacker can hack it it's ok to hack it... kinda like saying... ah never mind, any analogy I'd make to someone in your mindset would just start a flame war

Shadow_Wing

Exploitation is a form of cheating.

The current hacking is exploiting loopholes in the game system, and not actual "true" hacking. All in all it's exploiting bad programming on another scale than most people here play at.

Cheating is more or less an easier way to any specific end result, and yes exploiting bad programming is one of em.

Oh and PSU is a terrible program to begin with, it's so massively faulty that it kind of makes me cringe on how badly programmed it is.

Gamecube duping was a programming glitch.

*cough*

Oh I'm sorry ...by your logic ...duping should have been quite wonderous. Hours of grinding for rares ..who wouldn't want a couple more backups to keep ..and trade. Oh yeah, stat stacking, equip stacking. All wonderful "program glitches"!!!!!! I like it. <333

No but seriously, its an exploit because that was the entire reason they used the board system. To make weps MORE rare because not only did you need the lucky drop, you needed the LUCK to succeed in making it. Heaven forbid sega wants the synth board system to work according to plan.

Yea and in real life it's known as fraud, which can be a federal offense. Scamming using the internet (wire fraud) also applies. Either way it's theft, not cheating. Using parts of a map to your advantage could be called an exploit if anything.

Scamming/fraud is a form of cheating and that's why we have a legal system to protect people from these kinds of things that are on a large scale.

You know you could be wrong about your what's ok to exploit. One could say that all this hacking is just an exploitation of a bug and bad programming too.

I could say the drop rates are retarded and hax for weapons just because of a shitty drop rate. That's your logic. Fix it.

The end idea is just don't exploit anything.
