http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime2.gif My PS2 fell from atop the TV, and now the disc drive wont work. Not like I play much anyway, so for those of you who actually did play with me, later.

Good luck in your endeavors.

Well, at least it's a hardware related leave instead of 'OMG SEGA IS TEH SUXK'

In any case, it's a shame you won't be around any longer. See you Space Cowboy.

Well to be fair I wasn't going to come back as soon as my 6 month thing expired (next month).

http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif If someone is willing to give me $450 so I can go out and get a 360 and the game I would gladly play again.

Ah man, that sucks. Forget about PSU, how are you going to play other games?

If it makes you feel any better, I'd have lended you the $450, but you'd owe me 4000% interest.

I will probably eventually get another PS2 (or possibly save up for a PS3). But I don't foresee the PC/PS2 servers getting any better then they are so I am just gonna stop while I have a legitimate reason to. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif I wouldn't mind going over to 360 where the game is actually worthwhile, but no other games on the 360 spark my interest. And I'm not getting a system for one middle of the road game.

Besides, I can bide my time with reading... I have a ton of books that I have wanted to read, and now I don't have anything to do in the middle of the night.

Maybe it jumped... or was pushed? o_O I smell foul play.

In any case, provided none of the internals are smashed - you might be able to repair it. Might as well give it a shot, since it's not like you have to worry about breaking it.

=X Well actually, I had the controller on the bed, I got up to go take a leak and stepped on the controller cord.

*CRASH*

http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime2.gif Turned it back on, it loaded up to the little viewer thing. But it wouldn't load the disc. Opened the disc tray, put in a different game. Still didn't work. Tried a DVD, couple of other games, but nothing would come up.

http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif The thing is like 10 years old now or something? It was from the original release of the PS2 in the US... http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_lol.gif I think it is about time it died anyway.

http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif Your veto was repealed by a 2/3s vote from congress. It appears I don't have enough money to buy anything at the moment.

But not like it was that big of a loss.

1: You should never EVER put anything on top of your TV, no matter how convenient it may seem. Sooner or later, it'll fall off.

2: You should buy and wear adult diapers. Think of it as an investment.

ALL the hardcore gamers wear them- how do you think that one guy on the 360 got not one, but TWO Degahna Cannon boards? Endless runs. No bathroom breaks.

I hear he has an IV line dripping a vitamin-enhanced Saline solution directly into his system. No need to digest!

As far as your other problem goes:

I'm almost 100% certain I know what the problem is: The little lens inside there got popped out of alignment. Just find someone with some technical skills and they can crack it open + realign it for you.

It would be far better to simply buy a 360 though. NO HAX!

Thats plenty http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wink.gif.

Anyways, you MUST get a 360. Any bottle pee-er is an indespensible asset to the community, as far as I'm concerned.

Aww... I am going to be at my girlfriend's next week so I will bring the game and play on her PS3 just to say hello.

http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif If I can work my silver tongue on her I might be able to swindle her out of her old PS2.

What? What do you have against bottle-peeing Ryuki? Its you snobs with bladder control that are leading to people leaving PSU in droves http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wink.gif.

And Val.... must resist urge to make off color comment.... just work your magic.

My PS2 died last week also. Was getting disk read errors and took the top off to clean it out like I have plenty of other times. Only this time when I hooked it all back up, I got nothing. Was like the power cord wasn't even plugged in. Checked everything and made sure it was all plugged in but nothing came on.

Think I might of pulled a wire loose inside where the power cord plugs in when I checked to see if the error stopped with the lid still off, then unplugged it to put the lid back on.

I just trashed it, it was one of the first ones so it was close to death anyways.

To the OP:

Who said we are lost again
In this lonely world
I say we can start again
We're on the same ship
It's called starship earth

It is not too late
It's our home
So don't say that it's fate
We must not give up
To build our future on our dreams

We will never lie down and die
But we'll find a way to survive
We all have somebody we love
We know that's why we're here

We battle for freedom
It is a battle against the dark
I have my dreams
You know I'm not afraid of bleeding
"It is the time!"
We battle for tomorrow
It is a battle against time
And we can do miracles
So take my hand
We need to save this world

It was a hard time
So many tears
It's all not for nothing
To give up is not a choice
It's a fight we have to win

I cannot live without faith
Even if I am faced with death
We all have somebody we love
We know that's why we're here

We battle for freedom
It is a battle against the dark
We all have dreams
And each of them is to be realized
"It is the time!"
We battle for tomorrow
It is a battle against time
Too many tears
Have been shed with the same fear
We need to save this world

We will never lie down and die
But we'll find a way to survive
We all have somebody we love
We know that's why we're here

We battle for freedom
It is a battle against the dark
I have my dreams
You know I'm not afraid of bleeding
"It is the time!"
We battle for tomorrow
It is a battle against time
And we can do miracles
So take my hand
We need to save this world

You know, the funny thing is... I used to do that all the time. Not peeing in bottles, but pulling my PSX (PS1) off the shelf. I used to fall asleep playing it at night, and when I'd roll over I'd still have the controller in my hands - so off the shelf the PSX went. It'd wake up in the morning and it'd be on the floor with the disk lid open - the disk sitting about a foot or two away on the ground, and still chugging....

This wasn't a once in a while thing. It was like every-other night. Hardwood floors too.

Still works (if you stand it vertically, with the disk lid tilted slightly downward) to this day... though there's a sizable chunch of plastic missing from the corners.

My PS2 must be made out of alien plastic. That poor thing has been through WAR. Water spilled on it, fell off TV's, stepped on, fans falling ontop of it and it's still running strong at 4 years. Probably the worst thats happened to my previous PS2 was the fan going out.

Anyway, consoles ontop of TV = disaster waiting to happen. That said mine is on the floor now.

Where it's only subject to being stepped on and fans falling ontop of it.

Never saw you, never met you, most likely you isolated yourself from the community. Oh well server will be dead in about a week, so don't bother coming back if you do get a new one.

My phat PS2's disc tray won't close on its own. It opens, but I need to push it shut. Still works though http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif
