What effect do these have when used to synth melee weapons other than lowering their chance of sucess?

I heard from others that it made the next star rarity of the weapon, so I tested this out on junk weapon boards.

Nothing that I am aware of. All it does is lowers the synth chance and produce a neutral weapon. They are designed for force weapons (El) and Ranger weapons (Im), but they can be used in hunter weapons.

In short, all you gain from using them is a low synth chance and the saving of a regular photon.

I heard it produced stronger weapons when used in Melee weapons so I gave it s a shot, and then compared two of the same weapons, one from the shop and the one I made, and same stats

some weapons you can only synth i believe... like granarod... never checked if i could buy them after i finished ch. 12 though

offline if you buy a double saber you can make a 6* falchion
or with an ascalon board you can make an equal in stats caliber
a baybari becomes some other exactly the same in stats bow
twin brand becomes twin saber

they basicly usually becomes different looking weps with the same stats
only the falchion ive found is well different (doublesaber to single saber and 4* to 6*)
