Because if you're online now, you'd see the scroll by message saying "Thank you for participating.." ect, ect. That usually means "The End", but then that'd mean they cut the event short. But to be honest, I wouldn't blame them if they did.

The next time you wonder why the JP version gets a lot more attention, ask about the Valentines Day Event.

Those pics dont do justice. Trust me. It would be impossible to catch the true number of people that were there. My screen couldnt even load all the bland models. I would look at one spot, think its empty, run there, and BAM. Tons of bland characters everywhere. It was a uber mess.

Bullshit.

They get paid to be there to host events like this (if nothing else) and they should do their goddamned job reguardless of weither they like it or not, harrassed or not, or have to work around spam. Most of us who are working have had scenarios where our bosses wanted us to accomlish something which was a monumental pain in the ass because of the working conditions or limitations placed on us. But you know what, we do it anyhow... because it's our job.

I'm betting it's one of two other reason...

1. The GM's are getting heavily sauced on some hardcore liquor before comming back into that mess...

2. There are actually only about 2-3 GM's for the ENTIRE US/EU population - and they're busy on the X360 servers currently.

If this is a case of the GM's just getting fed up with the spam and quitting early - then it shows just how low Sega's work ethics have become of late. That's something a child would do - just giving up, taking their toys and going home. It's no way for a buisness to conduct itself.

It is kind of hard to take pics while the entire screen was filled with spam though. Getting people to be quite for even 10 seconds is hard just ask Ryuki. It wasn't really canceled though since I saw them in the other universes for a while afterwards.

So? As I said, lot of people have hard tasks to complete with their jobs, and most of the time they don't get any recognition or consideration for what they have to go through. If it was a case of the spam being too great, then that makes these GM's justified in closing an announced event early simply because they didn't want to have to deal with the hassle?

Not to mention that, because they're GM's, don't they have more robust versions of the game which are capable of doing things like turning off player chat on their client so that they can take pics? I mean... it seems silly to think that they're actually playing on retail copies of the game...

Well I'm sure the GM's aren't using a PS2 to access the game. They are, or at least should, have setups which are more than capable of handling this game in large events like this considering that, well, this was all planned out well ahead of time and the only real surprise was the actual lack of players compaired what they probably thought they were going to have when they concieved of this event.

It's ended for that universe, but it'll be moved to another one after a short reccess, no doubt.

It's funny watching people think they can actually make a difference on a game that, technically, they don't even own. All they own is the physical plastic of the DVD and a licence granted to them by Sega to play the game.

I enjoyed it, I know it was nothing special and anyone can take pictures. But it was a good excuse for everyone to gather together and have some fun, which should ultimately be the point of any event anyway.

I think they should have disabled chat bubbles for 20 minutes in any area they wanted to take pictures in, it would have made their lives alot easier. Its hard enough to get 20 players to be quiet let alone 200+. PSU is spam land at the best of times, let alone when people have some to genuinely be interested in, even those of us that aren't great offenders like to spam the odd comment every now and then.

I was playing on my PC and my wife on the PS2. I was standing right next to her on my screen but on her screen I was nowhereto be found, now thats lag! This event was crazy and in my mind pointless. The Japanese event seems great (if you can read Japanese) as people joined your game and gave you gifts etc.

All we get is sad spammers who ruin things and they wonder why SEGA don't bother to do anything for us??
I have been on the Japanese version and they have such a better temprement and were really well behaved. We just looked like animals at a cattle market!
