My PSU disc is messed up to the point where most missions online are unplayable (game locks up at many loading screens), so I'll be off doing other things until I get a new disc.

Am I one of the 5?

Good luck on getting a new disk, we'll keep the servers warm for you!

I had the same problem (only it was my 360 that was screwed up... even better), so I know how frustrating it is. So yeah, good luck on a new disc.

ebay is my friend; got one for $27 after shipping. Now just have to wait the week or so it'll take to get here. Not like I'll miss anything during that time http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

When the software is updated I imagine the updated code has to go somewhere. And apparently you don't have the room for it?

My xbox soils discs (yes, it does, whatever M$ admits it or not) try cleaning the disc, the result is far from perfect, but it works

Ever since I received my refurbished 360, my 360 sounds like it's chewing on the disc when it's loading something.

I checked about week ago and there was a fine line on the outer portion of the CD. I don't know which CD drive my 360 has, but I really don't like it. My older 360 didn't have this problem.

From what I heard they'll be replacing the drives in newer 360s with BenQ drives which will load a tiny bit faster and be much quieter. I don't think the change-over will happen until late spring or summer(?)

Not sure of the date myself, but, yes, that's the drive that the new model consoles will be equipped with.

Check the Xbox website. There was an announcement that Microsoft was extending the warranty indefinitely(?) on the first few batches of 360s sold. I only heard it in passing but it's worth looking into if it is true.

[edit:] Ok, after looking for a bit I couldn't find anything about that. I can't remember now where I read it but I'm pretty sure it was a reputable source. I'm probably just delusional, ignore I said anything. -_-

[edit-edit:]"SPOnG is reporting that Microsoft customer support is saying that 360s made in or before January 2006 will now get a one-year warranty extension. The extent of the warranty will depend on the manufacture and purchase dates. A full announcement from Microsoft is expected soon.

In addition to the warranty extension, the company is also planning to reimburse Xbox 360 owners who qualify for the extensions for any repairs they’ve had to pay for. -Dec 22, 2006

So apparently that was what I was referring to. >.> Don't ask where I got the "indefinitely" from. I'm sure this is old news to many people so, again, ignore I said anything.
