Im considering buying this game, but first I want to know if my little brother would be able to play with me? I'd be buying it for PS2, and even though I know it has online capabilities, would my brother and I be able to play together at the same time off the same PS2? I tried looking for this online but I cant seem to find a straight answer, so it would be great if someone could help me out here.

Hm thats a pain in the ass, the best part about PSO was getting together with a bunch of friends and playing on the weekends.

That it was. Also, being able to take that same character and bring her online was a great bonus. The fact that each area had a story behind it was also rather fun...

Alas, we are now incapable of doing any of these things on PSU...

There was a story in PSO? I just remember killing things, having fun, and doing quest. After a month I had no idea what the game was about lol.

There was indeed a story in PSO. I spent all of my PSO time offline in story mode, so I'd know. Considering how many plot holes it had and how little was explained to you, it was very effective and deep.
The only areas pre blueburst that didn't have stories were the VR areas, simply because they were made as a testing ground.

The PS2 can barely draw the game on the screen once, asking it to do it twice would be crazy talk.

Yeah but how about asking the 360 in glorious HD to allow for at least 2 players when the GC and Xbox allowed for 4? And yeah using the same character off and online was nice.

Honestly it was those limitations that had me wait this long to get PSU, and then only because I struck a great deal (ended up $15 new, shipped).

Not being able to play PSU with my wife where I could in PSO was huge =(

360 gets slowdown too. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_lol.gif Now, if it ran at 30 fps, you could probably pull it off.

And you wont lose your character either. It was fun though, having your offline go online. Show what you found offline to your online friends. But that was PSO afterall. This is PSU. A whole different beast all together. It has good points and bad points. But like human nature dictates, we only focus on the bad.

something tells me if they could get 2p-4p working on the cube and xbox
they could have managed a decent enough 360 2p mode at least :b

edit - ok with a sig like that maybe I shouldnt take the post serious lol

double edit - hard to ignore what I lost from PSO, and I don't get those suggesting PSU is such a totally different beast. I'm sorry but it really isn't that different, and certainly not to the degree it can't or shouldn't be compared.
