First guess is that your PC isn't up to par. Do you know your system specs at all? CPU speed, RAM, video card, that kind of stuff?

lol, I love how people post without knowing anything.

I assume you're yet to try and fuck with the settings no?

k so, go to options when the little exe launcher thing comes up, and go to options.
from there go to graphics, click custom. the window should change.
from there put frameskip 3, detail level to its lowest, put all clipping to the lowest and you should be good.

I'm playing on a laptop and mine is very crappy and I run very well...sorta

edit: sometimes you'll feel that you're slowing down alot, but just press shift+arrow key down to look down and you shoul run normal speed again.

You need to give us more specific infomation on your computer so when can tell you want the problem is, you know like it's prossesor speed, video card, and RAM.

I have a "decent" laptop and it run PSU on lowwer settings, but a good desktop from 2006 should be more than fine.

Frameskip 0 will rape your framerate faster than Kenny dies in South Park.

Not really. You're now playing with a frameskip of 3, which would make me personally throw up. Plus everything must look pretty crap right now. Your PC might be able to do a lot better, so you really should tinker some more with the settings.

yeah any new game you get you should tinker with the settings as the programming is different and doesn't always work the same and some programmers may be able to code a certain thing more efficiently than another either because they are better or because the particular thing is less advanced than it seems to be.

Also it's pretty well known that Phantasy Star games have a strange habit of not being able to play a game as well as they should. I've heard lots of people being able to turn everything up to max on many far more advanced games, but can barely run Phantasy Star without some sort of problem.
