I'm new to the PSOW forums, and i figured i'd start my post career with a question thats been bugging me for awhile. I'm from PSU 360, and I would like to know what's up with the massive meseta inflation happening on ps2/PC servers?

kthxbye

Hackers. Thousands of them.

Basically, they make as much meseta as they want, buy the horrendously overpriced items in player shops, hacks some more, and repeats. The players now have an ungodly amount of meseta, which they distribute in kind. This continues until elemental photons are being sold at 100k each.

people hacked meseta, got 9999999999(max), and bought peoples weapons from player shops, which gave regular joes tons of that hacked meseta. and that eventually grew into the major inflation we have today. its easy to get alot of money, its up to the player to use it wisely. some bought s ranks, some didnt. i didnt buy any weapons, i used the money to buy synth material and room decos and clothes. i still synth my weapons. some people think it ruined the game and in some ways it did. but i think it just made the game a bit more enjoyable for the short time i will be playing

Most people complain about it, but me >_>
well lets just say this, if some unknown person decides to join one of my partys and announce that they are going to drop 500k, you better believe im going after it.
it's really nice to have extra PM feeding, clothes, room decoration, and grinding money.

I see, could the same thing happen eventually to the 360 servers?

probably not due to the fact that all the hacking is coming from the Pc version of PSU.

yeah, its only cause of PC users that we see hacks. you probably wont see that kind of thing. your doomed to work 10x harder for 100k. oh and its not a stupid question, just an already answered one. you could have found your answer by searching, but really...who does that? i dont think anybody searches for their answer. i dont. i can just get my answer quicker by posting my question now. welcome to the forums ^.^

The forum search function is terrible anyway. The hax could eventually go to 360, it's just 60 jillion times easier to do it on PC.

I don't think you will see any real hacking on 360, only glitching. M$ will ban your 360 so I don't think any hackers are willing to go buy new 360s everytime they get banned.

Feb 22, 2007, 02:23 PM
yeah as of tomorrow morning you will no longer be able to make meseta on pc. as for can it happen on 360. with a mod chip it can and will. only a matter of time. theres already rumors it is starting on other forums. where people ahve spotted a few players with items thet shouldnt have. oh yeah and its not easy to make as much money as you want either. theres not as much meseta in our economy as there once was cause a few of the key hacks have already been banned.
the 360 players always try and make it seem ten times worse than it is for pc/ps2 and ten times better than it is for 360.

If anyone logs onto xbox live with a modchip, instant and full account ban. anyone logs into xbox live with a modified xbox, instant and full account ban. There's only been one instance of hacking, and guess what happened to him?

in psox after the mod chips were everywhere, microsoft didn't ban any xboxs from xbox live. the microsoft team was given the patches from sonic team and updated the servers themselves. it'snot like that anymore with ST doing all the game updates this time. pretty much don't expect bannings from microsoft they are only interested in your 65 bucks a year.

Ask Snowfox what happened to him. He was banned in under 24 hours if I recall, and wasn't using a modchip.

Why do you think no-one hacks halo 2 anymore? You can't log onto Xbox live with a modified 360.

Exactamundo. The Halo 2 hacking on the original Xbox helped ALL games to become hack/mod free on the 360. They took all the information about how things were hacked on the original and made sure that the same mistakes wouldn't happen on the 360. Now the script kiddies will have to wait for the real hackers to figure out how to hack this setup, then sell the information to them. It's usually a only a handful of people who ACTUALLY figure that stuff out. The rest just follow along.

If I were to bet, I would assume that they will eventually figure out how to hack the 360. As for that Snowfox guy, I still think his shit was photoshopped.

Nope, what Snowfox did was technically viable, I just don't know how exactly he did it. His HP did seem a bit low for a level 535. XD

But nevertheless, his account was banned from Xbox Live.

Back to FFXI for me. *poofs*

lol they were waiting for snowfox, they know him by name. hes one of the guys they had a big problem with before.

there are people that cheat and take advantage of exploits with other 360 games.

i'm not going to start linking to cheat sites and what not but if you don't believe me, do a google search for a few of these things. like xbox 360 mod chips and other 360 cheating related topics. you'll find good and bad both.

Yep, you can mod an xbox 360, that's correct. but as soon as it's turned on and you're on xbox 360, your console's reg number is added to a blacklist of consoles, and cannot be taken off. I have looked this up, believe it or not.

What I don't understand is if the 360 is so damn easily hackable as you so love to claim, why is there no rampant cheating coming from the PS2 side? Why will meseta creation be completely impossible as of tomorrow for PC/PS2 users but not 360 users? Are you honestly going to pretend the PS2 has better security than the 360?

i was saying that about the meseta because this thread started off with people saying things like, 1000s of hackes were everywhere on pc/ps2 and everyone had max meseta and that its easy to get max meseta. these things are just not true of pc/ps2 anymore. i wasnt saying you would be able to do it on 360 or anything. i just strongly feel that someday soon, psux will go the way of psox.

You're an idiot, Microsoft suspends anyone who logs onto Live with a modded XBOX within 6 hours. If you ever played Halo 2, you'd have learned that a long time ago.

Modder logs onto Live then Halo 2. 4 hours later is banned from h2 matchmaking, another 2 hours or so later is suspended from Live. If the offense is repeated, you'll get a ban instead of a suspension.

Please explain it to me. How? With the PS2 having far, FAR, FAR weaker security than the 360, how is it possible to end it PS2 side, but not 360 side?

Hacking the PS2 version is pointless, since people can just get the PC version. No copy protection, so it's easy to acquire, and people can just log in and hack on there. The update will fix a lot of stuff and shut down the script kiddies, but someone somewhere will get back in. Let's not worry about it, cheating happens. As long as ST stays on top of it from now on, we'll be ok.

not tomorrow, which i thought was the misunderstanding of what i said. in the future yes. and if im wrong i'm wrong. but thats my opinion. i think that someday psux will have exploit problems.

i started by just trying to defend the lies told in the first half of this thread. it went a place where i didn't want to take it, but i have strong feelings about. i'll end by saying it's time for me to go earn some rl meseta. so peace.
