Title says it all, I'm having second thoughts on PSU and I'm thinking about staying with my friends on PSO and just getting it online. What do you guys think?

The PSOBB free server is best but we're not allowed to talk about free servers here

That's your decision, so make it yourself.

I believe it's against the rules to talk about "free" or "private" servers.

With that in mind I personally would go with PSU.

We'll I'm not sure, I've heard the PSU-PC online is pretty crappy.

Oh... hmm sorry didn't know the rule.

Depends on what you mean by 'crappy'...If you are talking about duped meseta, then it's just like PSO where meseta wasn't worth much. If you are talking about hacking, then PSO would be worse in that respect.

PSO and PSU are hard to compare, however, keep in mind that PSU will get 'official' updates whereas PSO will not.

The PC Version is fine, it's just that bashing it is the cool kid thing to do to right now.

Bashing refers to basically talking bad about somthing in a somewhat unjust or excessive way.

Ah, I see. Well it's more of the fact that: 1. The controls are kinda weird. 2. It seems kind of confusing. 3. The whole timed mission thing is pretty weird. 4. I would be leaving my friends behind. But then theres the pro's: 1. Lots of people to play with. 2. You always will have the option for Co-Op. 3. New/lots of stuff. 4. Not as repetetive as PSO.

controls? you get used to it.
confusing? and PSO wasnt confusing when you first got it?
online there are few timed missions, that's only offline.
#4 is the only reason not to switch I guess.

Currently there is only one timed mission, and the controls are weird how?

Eliash

1. You can use an xbox control if you desire.
2. You'll catch on pretty quickly.
3. Most missions aren't timed, Bruce is t he only timed one online. (Apart from online story)
4. This is for you to decide.

Okay I see what you guys are saying and I agree that four really is the only reason I wouldn't/shouldn't get it. And now that I think about it I could always do both and play PSO when I get the chance.

Isn't it hard to do that and homework and still have a life once you get through with all of that stuff?

Considering I dont have homework... http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

And you dont need to spent hours up on hours on each. I only play BB with IRL Friends, so we get on a 2 or 3 hours at a time, here and there. 3 times a week at most so far.

Going online for PSO(GC) is a waste, the servers are going to be shut down in a month

From the mainpage:
In a recent announcement on the official Sega of America / PSO message board, Sonic Team confirmed the shutdown of the PSO GameCube servers. It was also stated that new account registration would no longer be available as of this week. As mentioned before, players who have active accounts may continue playing until March 31st, 2007, with the final month (March) being free. In the announcement, Sonic Team thanked everyone for the good times on PSOGC and encouraged anyone who enjoyed the game to check out Phantasy Star Universe.
