A ranks = empowering?

For some reason, since i've got my A-rank Asami Zashi 10% light, I have no problem running headfirst into groups of enemies higher levels than me, and making a go of it... but with my Survivor, I never did that, I'd take out one at a time, or just use my pistol.

Do A-ranks actually boost your combat strength that much (like weapon speed etc) or have I finally snapped and lost it?

Nah, it's more of an confidence boost then a stat boost, really.

Of course I don't need confidence, I've always been a maniac and run into mobs of enemies.

It's not my A-Ranks that make me charge into mobs, it's the fact I have nearly 2000HP http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif That, and 170+ base DFP helps. A-Ranks just look cool, and add to the awesomeness.
