PSU-Item: Rare drop chart on PSUpedia

I'm looking at the drop chart killing some time and I note that the special drops are seperated from the rare drops. http://psupedia.info/index.php?title=Drops

Now since the rare drops have enemy levels associated with them but the special drops do not. How do the special drops work? Is it off of the photon fortune? Can you get a special from an enemy regardless of its level? Does mission rank determine chances of a special dropping?

So one could hunt the black heart on C rank hive?

People usually use the C rank Hive to hunt the Blackheart. It would be near impossible on S rank as it would take you about 30 minutes just to get to block 2 if you soloed it!

yes, black heart does drop on C rank HIVE

i dunno if your using black heart as an example, or your going for one. but if you look in the Guides section you will find a very well done, detailed guide for finding black heart on C, B, or A
