I was trying to figure out around how much Sega makes off of this game.

It would say at peak hours there are ~4,000 people online. I would imagine that would represent no more than 20% of all active accounts. So that comes out to 20,000 active members, and at $10 a month that would be $2,400,000 a year on subscriptions alone. And that doesn't count the JP servers.

With that amount of income it's no wonder they are making an expansion. However IMO a lot of things in expansion should have been part of the original PSU. Who knows.... maybe if they put in a little more effort, PSU would have got good ratings and they would have way more active members than they do now.

I'm glad we are getting an expansion.

there are 34,000 ps2/pc players.

Simply, Look at the player's ID numbers. I've seen as far as 34,010 so I know there are at least 34,010 ppl.... Now, only 900 max ppl on a night? Lol.... a little above 3% of the ppl are on a night on ps2/pc

All things considered, while PSU may be a pretty good cash cow for Sega, it's also worth remember that Sega is still recovering from the events that lead to their drop from the console side of the industry.
