My char is lvl 28...is that too low to take on Dark Falz? I mean he has an ice attack that looks like it takes half of my hp and then the rest...in one hit. It sounds wierd I know, but there is no way I can survive it. Everytime I've tried he's killed me with that attack... I have no scape dolls nor any ready access to them. What to do? Thanks in advance.

I slapped him around when my Lv. 31 RAmar was taking him. He killed me by freezing me in place then Gifoie'ing the crap out of me. Boom, scape doll to the rescue. It really depends on what kind of character you are. around 30 is a good estimate for a Ranger. Hunters can go as low as maybe 24. Forces (solo) will need at least 35 or 36.
Then again, I've grinded the hell out of my Autogun all the way to +45. Best weap I have.

I've got a bind autogun +26, but I guess it's just more lvling, and scape doll hunting for me...

If you've the ability to use techs then a high level resta couldn't hurt, or even a state/maintenance but where are you gonan come across a s/m in what appears to be normal mode. I know ive got my eye open for one.

There is no more State/Maintenance?
That sucks. I have been hoping I would find one. I usually would find at least one every time I went through vhard forest in v2. But I haven't even seen one this whole time in EP1&2 now that you mention it.

Since State/Maintence is gone, I assume they broke it up into may different units right? Like, a Cure/Shock and a Cure/Poison and so on and so forth?

I remember finding a Cure/Shock, so at least that exists (not that I know exactly the might and power of State/Maintenence, since I'm not a PSO veteren).
What class is your character? Depending on what you are, you may need more or fewer levels to be able to survive that instant death spell Dark Falz casts. (And from what I was taught, HP is the way to know when you're ready to take the beast on.)

If you're a FOrce then it's best to sit back and hit him with Grants (if you have it). I'm a FOrce vet. so I know how to get around all of Ep.1 without any trouble.
Hunters just need a good close range, high damage weapon (like a Saber or Daggers) since Swords and Partisans are slow.
Rangers have it easy with Falz, a good rifle type (with %s and/or HP stealing) can get you in and out of Falz fights quick.
If you get frozen by his Rabarta attack, just jiggle the control stick left and right til you're free, also, it's best to shortcut mates and not use resta (if you can) since by the time you cast it he could hit you again.

Here is a good trick for when he freezes you (or anytime you get frozen in the game) move the joystick back and forth as fast as you can and you will be able to break out quickly, before he does the fire.

Erm... I wouldn't use Grants on DF. Especially if your Grants level is a lot lower than your 'weak' attack tech levels (which it is bound to be on normal mode--assuming you even have it). You just need to use the right techs against the right form. And if you have access to Club of Laconium/Mace of Adaman/etc. use them appropriately.
For the Darvants, I just use Foie. Usually, I'll automatically turn and target the nearest Darvant, killing it in one hit... Barta spells work fine, too.
For the first form (the big three-headed dragon guy), use Zonde techniques. I just use straight-Zonde and blast him to bits... occasionally stopping to kill the Darvants with Rabarta or Foie (since they'll absorb your Zondes... alternatively, just use Gizonde).
For the second form (the one that goes in circles around the platform), use Barta-series techniques. Again, I just blast him with straight-Barta, since it's the strongest.
On Hard, for the third form, use Foie-series techniques. Again, straight Foie is probably the best here, though Rafoie is also a possibility and I suppose Grants might be better here. Gifoie won't work well because he's hard to hit with it, though.
Also, as a FO, you might need to equip some HP units... and everyone can benefit from ELT units for his final form (on Hard/VHard/Ult). I was able to beat him at level 25 with my FOnewearl on normal and level 45-ish on hard, though it would not have been impossible to do it earlier.

State/Maintenance prevented Poison, Paralyze, Freeze, Short Circuit, Slow, and Confuse. You could get hit by traps or enemies that caused these conditions and not be effected.
