Nothing bad-ass about these little tinker-doinks, they're just there to screw around with. Not something you'd pull out if you were serious about blasting everything in the room. (So it'd make sense for you to be with someone else, nudging things while they catch up on XP.)
Slicers are excellent toys. I mean, look at how they blat big piles of critters! And if they have a special attack (like confuse) they can be even more fun! What other practical use is there for a Rappy Fan than shooting feathers at random wimpy critters just for silliness factor?
Is there something out there that you keep in the bank just for toy-value?

Akiko's Frying Pan! I love the sound of it and the new animation!

Any rare that I can equip but don't use regularly, I keep in the bank as a "toy." Cards, for example, are a toy (though I'd like to see how a FOmar can use them), because my FOnewearl just sucks at melee/shooting.
And be careful about calling Slicers "toys"... there are a couple of us who will swear by them. They turn bosses into shishkebab real quick like.
Al-Rappy: Technically, the animation isn't newly Akiko's. Any katana-like weapon swings like that. Though, using a frying pan like a Katana is still silly enough. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif
BTW... all the great mages use frying pans. >:)

I hate slicers in general, but I love my Rappy Fan +22. It's a toy, yes, but it's a deadly toy. It can lay the smackdown on just about everything in Vhard (except Baranz, Sinows, Delsabers, Belras, Chaos Bringers and Dark Falz 3 and Dark Falz 4).
I've been using it in Ultimate Forest lately and it's still useful against groups of monsters, especially if moths, bartles and barbles swarm you and you need a quick way to hit them all. Sure the damage is not much, but consider that it can bounce from enemy to enemy out of range of your partisan/sword...
