That sucks, but Im glad you can play your own music online and stuff! http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif I may get a 360 later so thats why Im asking.

So you cant set your music so it can play automatically once a level/boss begins? meaning you have to do the work of putting your music everytime a level or boss starts all the time?

You can put a suprisingly large amount of MP3s on your Xbox while only using a minimal amount of space. Those in turn can be played anytime, regardless of what you are doing on your box.

No, you cannot set your soundtrack to the "rhythm" of the game. But the soundtrack is easily accessable in the blade which appears when you press your guide button. If you want a certain music to play during, say a boss fight, cue up the track and pause it right before stepping into the teleporter. Then during the loading screen, access your blade again and unpause. This should allow you to start the music you want without interupting gameplay.

Nope, the music wil keep playing throughout the game till you stop it. The only thing is that boss cut scenes interrupt the music for the movie, then starts off where it got stopped.

Playlists are another option. It will save you a great deal of time if you have a large music collection.

Playing your own music during game is seperate than setting the sound effects as well right?
So one can be playing your own mp3's AND hear the important sound effects from the game at the same time, right?

I wouldn't want to sacrifice hearing a monster or team member behind me for instance. Or muting the effects I make with techs and guns.

The music and sound effects are separate.

Also note that you can adjust the volume of the Custom music playing, right in the same blade window. This is to account for different relative game volumes and such. The default might be too loud or soft, so if you want to change it, that's where you do it.

The source of the MP3 files doesn't have to be the Xbox 360 itself, either. (I think most of us were just assuming this already, but, if you didn't know in the first place...) You can hook up iPods or other MP3 players via USB, or stream music via your home network from a Windows PC with Windows Media Player 11 or a few other official things--there are also several third party media server programs that are compatible as well.

Good thing for this too, because the 360 doesn't come with nearly enough space to house all of the game music I have. I just received another 10 CDs worth of music just today... game music CDs are becoming an obsession for me, I think...

Seriously though, networking the 360 to the PC is a godsend. I hope they add support for MPEG videos soon, since they only support WMV right now.

You sir, are the man of the hour. That is EXACTLY what I've needed.

Native support would still be preferred, IMO. The transcoding TVersity does is a nice compromise but there's an obvious degradation in video quality.
