Saw this guy trading it, its an A unit and you get invulnerable to burning, itīs logical that shock, dark, and freeze resist is out there.

Is it legit? where does id drop?

First of all, it doesnt make you immune to fire. It just gives you a signifigant boost against it. I cant remember off the top of my head who drops it (probably S Ragan/Ragnus), but it is legit.

Yeah I'm pretty sure it prevents burn, thats why its called burn RESIST.

Right. It raises resistance. It does not make you immune. There is a huge difference.

Since when has "resist" been synonymous with invulnerable?

You become RESISTANT to burn, but not invulnerable, and yes, it's legitimate.

It does make you immune to getting the status effect "Burn". But it also adds 3% to your armor's elemental attribute. It drops off the boss boxes in Plains Overlord S.

If so, I would like to see JP statistics on the item.

Is it confirmed that this unit drops off Plains Overlord S, because I heard it came from De Rangus S. Just wondering because I'm interested in hunting this unit.

Sure, I'll do what I can to show this.

1. Go to: http://tinyurl.com/2uhopm This is the URL to the Japanese PSU Wiki translated through Google.

2. To the left, under "Common Database", you'll see links that say:

Equipment
┣ weapon/strengthening
┗ guard/unit/clothes part

Click "Unit". You'll be taken to another page translated, and it'll give you links to the Network mode slots at the top. Don't click on them, since you'll be taken to the non-translated page.

Instead, scroll down until you see this portion of the page, the Body Slots for Network Mode. I highlighted the entry for Burning/Resist, and underlined where it says "combustion nullification", which quite obviously means it nullifies burn, a.k.a. rendering you immune to the status effect:

http://img120.imageshack.us/img120/1598/burnresistwi6.th.gif (http://img120.imageshack.us/my.php?image=burnresistwi6.gif)

The translated Japanese PSU Wiki also says it drops off of "Boss box <Protection animal S of pair head>" which to me sounds like The Dual Sentinel S (pair of heads?), so it probably drops there too.

Thank you. I have no problem retracting statements when people give me proper documentation.
Carry on...

Yep, you are immune. I have poison resist & the descripion says "Nullifies poison". With that unit, I have yet to be poisoned on Nudaiz misions like on Relics. And my other chr who didn't wear it got poisoned constantly http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

it would make sense that it makes u 100% immune to burn, cauz if not it would just be a 'consentrated' Mega / Stamina + 20 to only burn, thus killing the effect of Whitll Wings.

only ones i find useful is the Burn / Resist, and a Freeze / Resist. other status effects dont come too much.

how about immunity to incapacitate? (megids). how would that one be? http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

What about Death resist? Not like making you invincible, but just immunity to instant death from Megid...Pretty much all RPGs that have instant KO consider it a type of status effect and there is usually equipment to protect you from it. In most games it is pretty easy to come by too, since instant death is such a cheap attack. But maybe I'm expecting too much from SEGA.

Guess I wasn't the only one thinking this.

There is a Resist/Megid.
It's called stepping out of the way.

The same could be said for avoiding any status though...

Itchee

Touché.
However, the other status effects can be generated in other ways. Like ice radiating from those big, mounted guys in Neudaiz. From what ive seen, if anyone is getting knocked out by Megid....its in fireball format.
i.e. Dont stand there.

Yeah, but like a lot of people who do the same, you are at least *resisting* the Megid. Resist doesn't mean guarrantees as everybody should know, way often the undodgable situation occurs. Especially on S and up.

Sometimes, I would like a status effect that could take the Nikes off them, and deny their Sprite-drinking and deodorant commercial privledges. Darn monsters on speed. I like to call an investigation for Steroids.

Megid / Resist has been available since day 1.

http://mewn.psupedia.org/PSU/Misc/units.txt

according to mewns filedump on all the psu items there is a unit that nullifies incapacitation.

VIJERI/RESIST

More than likely so rare, you'll never see one.

I'm pretty sure there's a resist/* for every SE in the game.
I'm also pretty sure most of 'em are actually so rare that they're not even unlocked yet. SO rare!

I wonder why Whithill Wing is missinig from that list and the Black Heart too?

Now, what I'm curious of is about the Extra Unit "Dark Wing" is this the Black heart or something else? Variations of translations?
I am very interested in the possibility of a dark photon or black ether version
of "whithill wing"...

It would be bad ass to find one of those once/or if ever available....

Rashiid
Mar 13, 2007, 08:20 PM
no more dark anything plz, black heart already lookz like p0o...

ShadowDragon28

IMO Black Heart looks beautiful. And I like the concept of "good guy" characters with/that use dark or darkness empowered weps, armor, etc.

To break away from the whole "bad guys wear black" stereotype,
In my view; a *villain* dressed in all-white that kills with Light empowered weps, armor, etc is a bit more "original" too...

So IMO, more Dark stuff is very welcome, and "Dark Wings" would be very kick ass IMO.
I have *very* direct and *valid* Role-Playing/Fan Fic reasons as to why I would like to find and use "Dark" equipment.

I try very hard to ignore all the frakking "copy cats" only trying to "look cool."

its not you, its me (woah...that sounded akwarddd......)

just, gothic ppl scare me in general, i cant even walk down the (what we call in our skool) the 'white hallway' since thats where the white/gothic kids hang.....(not in a racist way of coarse)

ShadowDragon28
Mar 13, 2007, 10:40 PM
well seeing as i graduated Highschool like a decade ago, from my informal research a large majority of kids in H.S. that say there "Goth" are not,and are pretty much Posers. Ask them who the lead singer of Joy Division is, if they say "who?" then they are probably a Poser.

I like many dislike that label and the lame stereotype of what is called "Goth" the very term is bothersome to me and many others.

Those "gothically inclined" persons that are genuine and "know thyself" don't try to be "scary", while some may give off that vibe, most real dark siders are pretty friendly, intelligent and not pompous or mean and neither are they going out of theur way trying to be all "scary."

http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t127/ShadowDragon28/shadow-001.jpg
See, I'm not really scary. Like me, most "gothic" inclined persons are "mostly" harmless. lol

(sorry for derailing the topic)
Back on topic. I could really use those Burn/Resist and some kind of Freeze/Resist units...
