PSU: ST failes to do what it said it would (AGAIN!)

Well, if you think you can do a better job, then do it.

You translate and localize Japanese, but it's in code, so you gotta recode it too. You test the updates with only about, hmmm, four or five people able to do that? Then file through over nine thousand bug report complants after the update is in.

People are always threatening to quit, because segas not doing enough, or when they are updating its not enough.

First of all I personally don't believe psu is all about leveling, even if it was I still havn't maxed out my force and I've been playing from day one. Even if i did max out ONE character there are 3 other slots for me to try the other character classes or character types, not only that but hunting for rares is another thing that gives psu its replay value.

Honestly I think majority of the people who post here are fans of the game and love playing it, and theres a difference between constructive criticism and 'omg i don't like sex ai'm gonna quit'.

If you're not happy with psu and the job that sega is doing, just don't play the game anymore..

ahh ye olde "why don't you do a better job" argument.

Listen SoA sux, their localization team sux, PSUs director sux, and much of their team sux. The only thing good about the Phantasy Star series left them and I would be willing to bet it was because the games clearly have potential but the teams that work on them simply aren't good enough to do what they should with them.

Sure you see a glimmer of what's special about the game and love the idea of the game and all that...and even parts of th game can be awesome without the whole thing being great. I, as do many other people, love FFX-2's battle engine and praise it as the pinnacle of the ATB system, but look at the story and see it as shallow garbage.

Now as far as "they gotta do all this" You know what? They have 2 whole months head start on this and they have made HUGE mistakes without creating any errors. Wanna know why? Cuz the only errors you get when translating is memory issues which isn't all that hard to fix with a MMO.

There is NO coding involved because everything that would need to be altered is coded so that if there is text over flow it will go to a second page, or it just needs to be rewritten to fit or have to addin an extra dialogue bubble via a simple command that you could teach any monkey.

And that's IF the damn stuff wasn't already on the disc. "updating" this games involves very little actual work and I'm pretty sure anyone with half a brain could do it...And guess what. They don't program the updates either they just change the names and any text involved in them which woud take you prolyl less than 30 mins to do, if that.

Stop making excuses for incompetents.

What I'm rly mad about is that they haven't put much of the old system where you directly find a rare weapon. You find a rare? Great! You now need to find all the mats and the board! Congratulations! You can now hunt for hours! Then youy synth it... it fails! Congratulations ! all your hours of work have failed to nothing but a precious monomate bought for 75 meseta!!! How do u feel?

Synthing wins. It encourages you to make friends who've raised other PMs to help you synth your weapons.

But of course, most people already raised 4 pure PMs, so they don't have that problem.

I still like how people say PSU sucks and they still pay for a GL. If the Phantasy Star series has gone to crap, why would you keep playing? And if you aren't playing, where's it your place to comment on a Phantasy Star fansite?

In Sega's defense, PSU's release schedule has been mainly weekly, only the occasional larger gap has broken that up.

Sure, we're not getting weekly updates. At least we are actually getting updates (see 'Phantasy Star Online: Blue Burst''s EU/US version, which hasn't seen an update in months).

If you're annoyed over lack of content, do us all a favour, and cancel your Guardian's License, there's no point paying for a game if you aren't happy with it. Come back when there's more added, that way you can enjoy the game again, and save some cash.

I guess my main bitch would be that the "content updates" we're getting are largely just unlocks of shit we've already had for roughly half a year offline. There's a few new tidbits here and there - but it doesn't really extend beyond new clothes and decorations. With each update, I don't feel like I'm getting anything "New", but instead get a few more pieces of a very incomplete puzzle.

Which is why I've pretty much quit... and only stick around for the storyline missions. At least THEY are new, and feel fresh - although, not without their own annoying quirks. (The whole "Government conspiracy" shit is really annoying. It was annoying in PSO, and it's annoying here.)
