Leo... Please Explain

My brother doesn't post here, so I am posting in his place. With that said here is his concern:

A while ago, maybe 2 days before the level cap was increased, he entered a party and was playing with someone who was European (quite possibly Dutch). Now, he noticed someone in the party who was level 73, bearing a familiar name... Mind you, the cap at the time was 70, and the leader of the party was 70. He searched for character information, as well as the character's ID# via pressing in L3. Nothing showed up, the same as if one had an NPC tagging along. "Leo" also shouted the usual NPC comments that they tend to say every so often. His name was in full, first name and surname. I asked him if he was playing around with me, but he assured me he was not. He and I tend to be very serious at times (sometimes overly serious), and he asked me to post here for an explanation or confirmation. I considered posting on the official forums, but I figured there would be a little bit more maturity here. Of course the first thing I thought in my mind was that someone was hacking Partner Cards into their list, but there is always that small chance that maybe someone discovered something that wasn't meant to be discovered, or somehow it slipped past ST, or maybe, just maybe, there was a person who hacked a character beyond the level cap, masked their ID, and created a perfect copy of Leo. I did what I normally do, and I read almost every post about relevant information, before posting this. I do not believe in wasting someone's time with idiocy and 'tishllub', so I would appreciate if you readers would take this seriously. I am unsure as what to ask, because I doubt anyone has Leo as an available Partner, so I'm just simply asking for some kind of logical explanation, if that even makes any sense. As usual, thanks in advance!

You can use Leo as a partner. Beasts get his card from the tutorial.

Beasts get Laia the last I recalled, and I just made a Beast for another 'Pure' PM...

Look, everyone has a chance at getting Laia, Lou, Hyuga, and Maya, in that order, I believe, by completing the Storyline Missions Online. When I started playing, I thought it was unfair that (at that time mind you) Newmans had the exclusive right to having Maya, while no other race could. They were released in that fashion probably to allow everyone the same number of NPC partners to choose from, as they are now all available to everyone.

When doing the tutorial, Humans get Hyuga, Casts get Lou, Beasts get Laia, and Newmans get Maya. THIS WAS THE VERY FIRST THING I DID WHEN I GOT ONLINE! I wanted to see how the various NPCs were for my first 5 character levels. If anyone does the tutorial before anything else, they will get their very first Partner Card. Upon doing the Story Missions, they can re-obtain the same Partner Card they received for their respective 'Tutor' in the respective Mission for said NPC. I was so stumped when I received Lou's Partner Card from the tutorial, and then have her not realize who I was in the Story Mission. I thought that it was because there was a different Lou on each planet, as she is a machine. But I did this with a Human also, and Hyuga introduced himself to me as if it were the first time we met, regardless of the fact that I already had his Partner Card from my Human's tutorial.

I honestly felt like you were being sarcastic, and now I feel like you are either ignorant to the topic, or purposely taking this post off topic. Please do not feel as though I am intending to come off as rude or impatient, but I made my original post with all seriousness. I just double checked (I feel REALLY dumb by doing so, but did for the sake of arguement) by redoing the tutorial with my Beast, and I received Laia's Partner Card. You are correct that you get Laia from Story Mission #1, but you also receive her on a Beast from the tutorial. To the very best of my knowledge, through trial of EVERY available mission, re-entering the doors I left upon completing every mission, I do not see any possible way to enter a mission that rewards me with Leo's Partner Card... Again, a simple explanation as to my brother's findings is all I ask.

ok noone is going to take you serious considering everyone knows that Leogini is given to Beasts for doing the tutorial and is currently the only way to get him...

You're just sorrily mistaken. Beasts have ALWAYS gotten Leogini from the tutorial.

I still have the very first beast on my brother's account and it has Laia as its instructor. The character I made for my PM has only completed the 1st Story Mission and does not have Leo. I see these pictures, and recognize them as proof, but I am still receiving Laia... I do not know what the issue is here. I regret not being able to take any pictures of it (God knows I really do), but this is baffling indeed. I really thought you guys were pulling my leg. Nobody online has shown me Leo when I brought this up to them, and I do not get him... I guess I can delete my character and try again... I SERIOUSLY am not getting him at all.

I would not just call someone a hacker outright without having been in their physical presence and having witnessed said individual hack, nor would I just disappear. I really came here with something that genuinely concerned me, and I said so in my original post. I just left a message on my brother's voicemail about this, but I am damned sure my eyes are not deceiving me.

The issue is that you're doing story mission 1 and not the tutorial. Talk to your partner machine and do the first tutorial.

I fully understand the process... I don't know what the hell is wrong with me. I have Leo now... I know this sounds so very weird, and I honestly don't expect anyone to believe me or hold anything I say from now on to be credible, but I am sure of what I saw. Hopefully it was an innocent glitch, or (even if it means shame and being comitted) me partially losing it. I really was getting Laia from the tutorial. She walked me around and everything, even gave me Rising Strike... I wish there was a way to just go back and erase this, but oh well. Thank you all for being patient with me. I got my explanation, at least, but now I'm questioning myself.

When I started I got Leo, and to my knowledge, I'm not a hacker.

They may have changed the rules so that female beasts get Laia (after they released her, that is) and male beasts still get Leo.

Of course, I don't care enough to check, but Leo is definitely not hacked....

When the game first came out, Laia didn't exist. There's no way you got her Partner Card then, be it via tutorial or otherwise. You are mistaken.
