A fanfic is just that, fan fiction.

It's a fictional representation of a topic, a topic in which the writer has interest in. (Grammar? @_@)

Don't get it? It's a story of something the writer likes, there.

A fan fic is more spacifically a work of fiction set in someone else's (usually) copyrighted universe.

It can use original characters insterted into that 'world' (like if you wanted to write a jedi who didn't appear in the movie) or it could take already-established people in new directions (like if you wrote a story about jabba the hutt suddenly turning good and going on an adventure)

It is called such because it's written by fans but it is not offically from the creators of that world. If George Lucas wrote something about Starwars, it wouldn't be fiction, it would be cannon--because he helped create it.

So here is a place for all your and everyone elses' made up stories about PSO or PSU. You can read a few to get an idea of what goes into it, PSOW has plenty of good examples.
