Yeah, that's what I want to know too. All I know is that most of the stores in my area can't keep the PC version of PSU in stock, it sells out.

I'd call BS Spacebot, if the same thing didn't happen here....

Sorry! Guess I should added some notes.

US only, PC unknown (sauce only gets console/handheld data).

If anyones interested I can do this each month.

Make of my comment what you will. I've done nothing wrong. But next time I promise not to make an observation.

The only reason I'd be against it is, the PS2/PC community, I assume, is mostly PC. And even then, sales wouldn't account for the whole of the players on PC because, well, some people do download the game or just get the game off of someone else's DVD.

So the difference there isn't 100% accurate.

Obsidian, what are you talking about? O_o
No one flamed you...?

Edit

Either way, I'm gald ppl are buying PSU, PS2/PC or 360. Means population increase http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif
Weather it be PS2/PC or 360 or both, its good news, no?

Insinuations are being made from implied meaning that were not present. Just letting everyone know food for though means "something to think about."

Make of it what you will.

Indeed. Even 5k copies sold is higher than I would have expected :/

Kimil
Mar 17, 2007, 06:04 PM
Obsidian, don't worry about it... at least you know I'm not attacking you k?

And I just noticed something...

2,200~ ppl bought PSU for PS2 alone last month? How come I've only seem an increase of 1000 ppl thorugh id numbers?, where are the other 1,200 ppl and the potential nuber of PC players?... I wonder how many ppl are offline only atm, who could come online...

PJ
Mar 17, 2007, 06:07 PM
Think of it like this Kimil

Let's say, there are 20,000 active Guardian Licenses on the PC/PS2 servesr (I really have no idea).

Now, take into account, everyone has different schedules for work, school, maybe some are out on vacation, heck, some may only be able to play on Weekends and whatnot. So yeah, not everyone who bought the game will be on at the same time, so it just looks like less people are there.

Kimil
Mar 17, 2007, 06:17 PM
I wasn't thining that PJ. what I was wondering was how many ppl haven't Registered for network mode yet (like Offline-only ppl)

I wasn't expecting everyone to be online at once (that would fill... 17 universes http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_eek.gif, if a full universe really does hold 2000 ppl, 200 a star, as ppl say).

What I was wondering, is why out of the 2.2k ppl who bought the game for ps2 last month (plus the pc number, what ever that is), only 1k new members have registered online. I'm just wonder, how many ppl who have the game for ps2/pc haven't registered to go online yet.

You also can't forget that "potential" can go either way. You also need to factor in all the copies sold to people who have quit.

More brain food.

Some people don't have credit cards and the like to get online.

Do you need a credit card to use XBox Live? If so, that'd be why a bigger percent of 360 PSU owners are online.

I had the game for a month before I got online. My friends, 3 months, for trouble getting a credit card to use.

Just examples.

McLaughlin
Mar 17, 2007, 06:25 PM
Kimil, I think it IS 200 people per star, but that'd make the maximum capacity 1000, not 2000.

I suppose some people just don't have the means (or the want) to play online?

EDIT: You CAN use a credit card, but there are also prepaid cards you can use too. I know a lot of people who have Live, and several of them can't play PSU online because they don't have access to a credit card. I also know people who just don't want to P2P.

My best friend's had it for as long as I have (nearly 5 months now), and can't even install it, much less get online.

Him and his stupid computer...

Obsidan: It depends. Some people hate online experience for the "OMG DOES ANYONE HAVE BLACKHEART?!" n00bs, some just like the content and EXP/meseta for offline. It's really a choice, but most people prefer online.

Yeah I mean this is really only a small part of the whole big picture. Unfortunately canadian/european/etc and of course PC data is really hard ta comeby. But I find it interesting anyways. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

Thanks for reminding me of my computer's &*^@#)-ness... *sob* Anyways i'm woundering why there's no PC buy price in there. But if that was mentioned already then sorry I haven't read all the posts yet.

im amazed that so many people have gotten the 360 version. i just dont get it when most frowned upon the xbox version of pso.

MrPOW
Mar 18, 2007, 12:38 AM
The 360 is a lot more popular than the orginal Xbox was. I just bought the 360 version last week. My reason? No cheating. For this type of game, especially when you have to put down $10 a month on it, I'd say that's a big selling point for many people.

It wasn't frowned upon, it was overlooked. Microsoft needed an Online RPG to round out Xbox Live, so Sega ported PSO to the Xbox. There was ZERO advertising, and it had already been almost 2 years since PSO had hit the Gamecube.

Being hack-free is a BIG selling point in any MMO. Not to mention how much more popular (and common) the Xbox 360 is. The Demo on the Marketplace helps too.

TwilightSea
Mar 18, 2007, 08:08 AM
Have you guys seen the demo on the marketplace? The demo has more filled Universes than the retail. And yes voice chat also helps. When you're fighting Dulk Falkis you don't have time to type out your strategy.

There's one thing I'm always satisfied is if I join in a random game and the host boots me. 'oh my you booted me. Yup, gonna have to send you bad feedback now bitch.'

Gamecube: 29 October 2002
XBox: 15 April 2003

UMM?

It wasn't overlooked until the end of it's life anyways. Well, not as overlooked as any other PSO version anyways.

Totally unsicentific, but more accurate (in ways that count) than the numbers given here. No one cares about people who don't play online.

Awww ya know leaked data can't be sauced! Well I mean I can't sauce the leaker. Something like that! Anyway ya it comes from the only(?) company in the US that tracks game sales an stuffs. N-P-something or other.

And yet as of October 2005, PSOX sold 88,429 copies! Just under half what PSOGC sold (not counting Ep3/+ obviously). PSU is looking to surpass that so the franchise clearly has a good home on X systems. Which sucks for me a lowly PS2 version player~ http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif

Eh, I wadded through the embarrasingness of being a Nintendo/Sega fanboy, and bought a PS2 back in November.

It's still my only game for the system.
