..that the xbox and PC/PS2 servers could be joined. Since Vista is getting rolling and they want to connect xbox live accounts to PC accounts. Why not connect the PSU servers. Now I don't know all the ins and outs about how the servers are setup and whatnot, but it would give new life to the game. Would be nice to have somewhere around 4 universes full at once. Yes, everyone on xbox are going to complain that the PC/PS2 servers got their haxmeseta, but give it time and it will all balenceout. Or Sega could wipe meseta and give certain levels a set amount of meseta. I'd love this to happen personally. Then, I could play with all my xbox friends. Well want to hear what everyone else thinks.

Haxeta is already draining out, and the crea doubles? I haven't ee them in a while. Those aren't the problems.

also, the headset isn't a problem. In lobbies, we can only use keyboards anyways. In parties, just have the headset's voice come out of the tvs for ps2 and non-headset pc users. those without keyboards can still read right?

One other thing... why can't they do what they did in FFXI??? didn't they join the FFXI 360 and FFXI pc and FFXI PS2 servers?

Yes they did, but I believe thats mostly because SE forced them to use their log in(play online)

you make a very good point. that and it would be hard for the pc users to use headsets. i don't know about the PS2 people. but yeah everybody uses the keyboards! i wish they would just make it happen

FFXI can do it because they have a server than takes 360 users off the Live servers and onto theirs. Sega would have to set something up AND get the OK from Microsoft. Far too much trouble to go through.

It's been explained several times, and I don't fell like doing it again. I'm also not touching why it'd be a bad idea. Someone else can get the warning this time.

It's never a good idea to expose yourself as a "OMG RL GURLLLL" on voice chat, unless you're fairly certain everybody will keep it in their pants and not harass you continuously. Heh.

on other games? yes there are those people that scream and make weird noises in thier mic, but PSU i havent seen it.

Since I actually didn't know it bypassed XBox Live... is it something in the game that just has it bypass XBox Live, or does the game just not use the service at all? Like, if you're online, can 360 players on other games see you're on FFXI and send you messages, or is it like, TOTALLY independant?

360 players have to sign in to Xbox Live, THEN register for and sign into PlayOnline. Pain. In. The. Ass.

You can still use all the Live dashboard features though, like messages and stuff. So no, I guess it's not totally independent. The main difference is that FFXI is one of uncommon cases where Microsoft isn't running the game servers. Others would be PSU obviously and some of the Electronic Arts games.

you have to have at least a Silver account like with PSU, but FFXI forces you to install Playonline Viewer which Allows the connection between the other 2 systems.

People can see that you are playing FFXI, and send you messages normally, and you can even jump into a private chat

We need to sign into Live and then sign into the PlayOnline viewer. It's a pretty big pain.

We're still able to use all our Xbox Live stuff though, like the Guide and Private Chat, messages and all that. The POV just gets us onto Square's servers. It's a rare case where Microsoft isn't running the show.

FFXI was a case where both squeenix and ms felt having XI would be a good thing, but ms wanted the game on their servers, as thats the requirement they made, along with voice chat for every xbl game, so the fight ended with ms flopping thier balls on the table and squeenix doing likewise, guess who had the bigger balls that time? and thats the reason FFXI got to ignore the xbl rules and why it'll most likely never happen again... asians USUALLY have small genitals, squeenix took pills
