JP server Population

What is the population of the JP servers?
Simple Question.

I know the population of PS2/PC and 360, but not JP.

Us on the PS2/PC are getting patches, maintenance etc all the time, and it suprized me. But of course, I'm guessing that the JP PS2/PC servers are more populated and we simply get their patches.

JP primetime population: "Lots"

US Primetime population: Universe 20 full
Universe 1 with 2 or 3 stars

So in other words, JP servers do NOT have a huge advantage in player populations during the hours that US PC/PS2 servers have universe 2 full.

Primetime 360-town (pretty much any time in the evening EST): Universes 1 and 2 are full, with 3 at around 4 stars. On weekends it fills too and the excess falls into Universe 4. We also always have at least 1 star on the JP Universe (16)

Some time ago in one of the screenshot threads I posted this, its dated though, keep that in mind. Probably from about 2 months ago. Theres only 20 universes on the JP server now (there were 45 originally, 38 at time of these screenshots). Also, keep in mind that theres two worlds. I heard world 2 has about half the population of world 1, but I don't know for sure. This only gives an idea of world 1's population.

We HAD 38 servers. It's now cut to 20.

The population is just spread out on the JP server. Different groups and guilds play in different areas. Also, some of the buses/taxis are on different servers so people move to those servers to play those areas. For example, universe 20 is the place to be for Labs parties. The labs lobby is relatively empty, even on servers that have 3 stars, except for on universe 20, where its always packed, even during off hours.

As for why the shrink, it was probably because there was unused space. They could get by with 20 universes and still have room for growth. World 2 has always had less universes, but the universes weren't moved over there, they were just removed.
