I don't know... The PC version has no graphics adjustments that you can make other than framerate.

Back when my computer was an AMD Thunderbird @ 950MHz with a GeForce 2 GTS and 128 MB RAM I had a jittery framerate.

You might want to upgrade that POS you have right there, it'l be worth it, especially if you play a lot of other PC games.

At the very least, get some more RAM and a better video card. I'm not sure about the recommended specs, but I really doubt that 64MB would cut it. :/ Same with the video card. Luckily, RAM and video cards aren't incredibly expensive.
Pretty sure 450mhz would be just enough juice though.

Anyway, I'd recommend downloading the demo if you're serious about getting the game. It's a bit hefty of a download though, somewhere around 85MB or so, so definitely use a download manager if you're on dialup.

So just play PSO on whatever console then.

From the readme:
---
Mimimum Requirements :

Operating System : Windows 98/Me/2000/XP with DirectX 8.1 or higher
CPU : Pentium III (or compatible) 450 MHz
RAM : 64MB
Hard Drive Space : 600MB or greater (Minimum Install with Custom Setting)
CD-ROM Drive : 4X or faster
Video Card : DirectX certified video card with at least 8 MB of video RAM
Sound Card : DirectX certified sound card
Keyboard, Mouse

Note : Additional Hard Drive space may be required when installing software update patches.
---
Note that 450Mhz is an *absolute bare minimum*. It will install but I would not expect it to run like a champ.

i have a 450mhz processor overclocked to 500mhz and 128mb ram and a Geforce chough*1*chough and its all jittery an crappy. if upgradings a too expensive prospect then i'd recommend gettin ep1&2 for GC instead

It ran well enough for me with pIII (1 Ghz), 256 MB ram, Geforce 2 MX400 (64 MB). I would get a tiny bit of lag w/graphics in Ruins 2 and 3, but otherwise it was perfect. I think it might work for you if you got more ram, and a newer graphics card, if your mobo supports it. Since your cpu is AMD, 450 mhz should be plenty fast enough.

i saw the network-demo running on a AMD athlon 550 (first series) and geforce 1 with 32 MB DD-Ram and it was a bit slow. in comparison to the dc-version i'd say in 80% speed...
and, its a pain to get used to keyboard-control...
-_-;

edit:
@ Hapsby
your sig is nice - how did you do that? i mean, getting your chara's pics? thanks in advance.

This is why you hop on over to ebay and pick up some console -> USB control pad converters.

I have two PSX/PS2 -> USB devices, they were a breeze to install, about $12 each, and give me absolutely zero trouble. I know there are also SNES -> USB, and GCN -> USB converters out there as well, may even be some for other pad types.

You use to be able to shop for this stuff very conveniently at zophar.net's store but the webmaster has recently closed it >_<; I know there are other sites that carry this kind of stuff but I don't have any specific URLs right now :(

You can use the mouse instead of the 8-way-direction/num-pad, hold the left mousebutton and the character will walk and in the middle of the screen theres a little direction thingy pointing the way you walk, that way its actually not that hard http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

I use a psx-usb adapter for all my pc games. I don't like "for pc" and third party controllers. The original ones made for consoles are so much nicer.

Thx. Someone posted a link to a site (@ ragol.com) where there was pics of all the characters in their different costumes. I can't find the link in my bookmarks. =/

Devon% and Raylene actually have blonde hair.
