I finally went and got this game last week, and just finished it. This game is amazing. Simply fucking amazing.

EDIT: Made Panther title on my first run through the game.

Got it preordered and watched that DVD thing about Raiden was made so Kojima would please the Japanese female preteen fanbase after a survey that stated they wanted some bleached beach bum looking character instead of stupid old man games for Metal Gear Solid #2, and he went overboard with running around as a naked Raiden. Then after that I didn't play the game.
