Heh, that trailer makes me rather nostalgic. And even while playing the game I think alot of things look better in it than they do in the game, most of which all have already said.

As for the note on Miriei casting barehanded, you might recall she did the same with healing Ethan in story mode. Makes me still cling to that little glimmer of hope that it'll be an option for us later on.

In terms of NPCs that you can actually invite, I like using Laia...but she's so weak some times. I swear, it seems like she's using F rank weapons. Also, I feel like killing her when she nanoblasts either:

Laia is a female. Females receive more DEF and MST points (and iirc, more EVP as well). Therfore females are better meatshields than males. Using this same logic we can conclude that Laia is a better meatshield than Leo, which furthermore concludes, Laia is a better npc than Leo.

Males, however, have higher HP. Something everyone seems to forget. Defense can be debuffed and is unreliable. HP is a solid stat, can't be debuffed or effected by armor.

Also lawl @ feminist chicks on these boards who get all angro when guys like feminine ladies and turn their noses at the she-man ones like biology intended.

Sorry, I'd rather have a nice newman chick to use magix/heal me/buff me/run to me for protection/make me a sandwich than some loud-mouthed beast amazon with daddy issues and no respect for, well, anyone.

Ethan looked almost halfway respectable too; why did they have to keep everything about him that was bad? I actually did like Ethan's hair alot better in this trailer. I think I've seen this trailer atleast 100 times, so I've come to know all these forms of the characters more than the way they look now.

There was a PSO concept image which showed a Grass Assassin (An enemy found in Caves, for those of you who haven't played PSO) in Forest. I'm guessing these were the same kind of thing. In 2004, a lot of things will have been getting roughed out, with not much thought as to a final product. As you can see, the characters are all pretty well realised at this point, but all of the enemy locations are different in the final game.

As for the Nanoblast art- the Female one appears to be on all fours? That would've been awesome (if they got a speed increase in movement because of it). It's likely that either De Ragan wasn't completely decided on, or that De Ragnus was shown in Raffon as a placeholder until the images of De Ragan started to surface.

Final thing- whoever decided 'Lets not have Photon Katanas as a normal weapon type' should be shot http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif Agito is cool and all, but we need a Twin Katana (just to satisfy my need for Sange & Yasha in PSU http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif )

Mirei's about the same, the others look a little less polished but are stylistically, in my opinion, better. They look less bland, and Ethan looking a little older and less like a complete ass can't be a bad thing.

Handguns too. It bugged me to see big burly RAmars and HUmars hold ity bity handguns with two hands, and still get jerked from the recoil. o.O

Dus Daggas - It's a little different in the video. We have a thrust, then an overhead swing. The video has a final thrust at the end.
Double Claw PA - It's two slashes. That's it. Looks nothing like any of the Double Claw PA's we have. The name is in Japanese, dunno what it says or I would have screened it and posted it with the other two.

Well, karen always carries a rifle. You used it to kill that one boss chasing Ethan (not using the spolier thing cuz its freakin chapter 2)

Actually, a lot of the Photon Art names in the TGS video seem different. What was called "Shield Break" early on could have easily evolved into Gravity Break by the time of the final game's release.

As I've said before my Japanese is pretty horrible, and the video is pretty blurry, but some of the Japanese names here are:

Twin Claw Skill: Last Tears? I can't honestly tell for certain though, it's just barely legible
Sword Skill: Tornado Break (unchanged)
Spear Skill: Raising/Raging Spike (probably evolved into Dus Daggas)

I know in chapter 2 she had a shotgun right when they met Curtz the AMF commander. Also in the scene with Gol Dolva she had a yohmei handgun.

About the PAs, I've mentioned it in other threads relating to other things, but I think it goes worth mentioning here aswell. When doing some of the hacking and digging through offline mode for data collection, theres an interesting quirk about PAs. PAs are handled by 2 digits. the first digit cycles through weapon type and then element. The second one cycles through the PAs of that given type.

Well, when hacking it, it appears that they made roughly 6-7 PAs for each weapon type. But they only included 3 melee PAs offline, and blocked the rest out. You can tell because the numbers on PAs are pretty random. Like one melee weapon might use skill slots 1, 4, and 5. And other might use 2, 4, and 6. or random stuff like that. Theres obviously other PAs that were there at some time, they're just not there anymore.

The blue haired chick may have been a beta Lou, but I doubt it. And I was going to say that guy she was fighting may be an earlier Magashi.

Maybe they will show up in the sequel or something?

Also, I know some people hacked the .SWF for images directly from the movie, but I'm not sure if they still exist. Would be cool to see them again.

By the way do you have any info on the Single Dagger Ultimate PA? I want to choose an appropreate skill for my new weapon.
